{"id":560125,"date":"2026-05-01T07:13:13","date_gmt":"2026-05-01T07:13:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/560125\/"},"modified":"2026-05-01T07:13:13","modified_gmt":"2026-05-01T07:13:13","slug":"mickleover-couple-aiming-to-break-world-cycle-ride-record","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/560125\/","title":{"rendered":"Mickleover couple aiming to break world cycle ride record"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Amy and Kyle have credited cycling as a transformative hobby in their lives. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Amy has previously struggled with an eating disorder and mental health challenges, while Kyle overcame a difficult upbringing that included periods of homelessness, before finding direction through cycling and supporting Amy on her own journey.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;This challenge is about more than just breaking a record,&#8221; said Amy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;Cycling has saved my life, and we want to use this platform to inspire others and raise awareness for mental health.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Amy completed her own version of the Tour de France last year and will transfer what she learnt from that challenge around the globe.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;Last year&#8217;s Tour de France challenge pushed me hard, but this is going to be about finding the limit of what is possible,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Kyle said the challenge would test the pair mentally, both individually and as a couple.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;We&#8217;ll be drawing on everything we&#8217;ve been through and leaning on our resilience together,&#8221; added Kyle.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;There will be tough moments, no doubt, but that&#8217;s exactly where we do our best.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Amy and Kyle have credited cycling as a transformative hobby in their lives.
