We had a really strong string of television releases in April<\/a>, including the premiere of Richard Gadd’s Half Man, which we named the best new show of 2026<\/a> so far and is still airing weekly<\/a>. <\/p>\n

But there are a number of other returning and brand-new dramas that you’ll also want on your radar in the month of May \u2013 including Disney’s soapy smash-hit Rivals, and the second season of the BBC’s murder-mystery with Emma Myers. <\/p>\n

So get those watch lists ready, as we pick out the shows you won’t want to miss in the coming weeks. <\/p>\n

Rivals<\/p>\n

Rivals season 2 will premiere on Disney+ in the UK on 15 May with its first three episodes.<\/p>\n

The highly-anticipated return<\/a> of Rivals is finally just around the corner, with its star-studded cast \u2013 including David Tennant, Danny Dyer, Aidan Turner, Nafessa Williams, and Emily Atack \u2013 all reprising their roles to pick up where we left off (yep, that shocking cliffhanger<\/a>). <\/p>\n

Based on the best-selling series of novels by the late Dame Jilly Cooper, Rivals charts a media battle between Corinium and Venturer in the ’80s \u2013 with the soapy personal lives of its central players also bringing added drama. <\/p>\n

Disney has promised<\/a> “even more drama, wit and desire” for the returning season, with a “more ruthless than ever” Tony Baddingham fuelling the rivalry. The synopsis also teases: “Marriages fracture under the weight of ambition, illicit affairs threaten to shatter families, and long-buried secrets ignite with explosive consequences.”<\/p>\n

The Four Seasons, season 2<\/p>\n

The Four Seasons will return to Netflix with season 2 on 28 May.<\/p>\n

This breakout hit<\/a> comedy-drama took us all by surprise when it dropped on Netflix last year, not least because it actually packed an emotional punch and turned out to be a whole lot more<\/a> than a star-studded laugh riot. <\/p>\n

With Tina Fey, Colman Domingo, and Steve Carell, The Four Seasons followed a group of friends who holiday together \u2013 only for a divorce to rock them, testing their collective dynamic, as well as their relationships. <\/p>\n

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, season 2<\/p>\n

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder will launch season 2 on BBC iPlayer on 27 May. <\/p>\n

The hit cosy crime series is based on the popular Holly Jackson novel, and follows 17-year-old Pip Fitz-Amobi (Emma Myers) as she attempts to solve a cold-case mystery. Fans have been desperately waiting for more \u2013 and now, season two is almost here. <\/p>\n

Most of the show’s popular characters will be back for the next batch of episodes, as they deal with the aftermath of the events of the first season. Among the new faces joining for season two are Misia Butler (Kaos), Jack Rowan (Noughts + Crosses), and Freddie Thorp (Safe).<\/p>\n

Ponies<\/p>\n

Ponies will premiere on Sky and stream on NOW from 22 May.<\/p>\n

The new spy thriller, starring Emilia Clarke and Haley Lu Richardson, won a lot of praise<\/a> when it first premiered on Peacock earlier this year, and it will become available to UK<\/a> audiences to watch very soon. <\/p>\n

Set in the ’70s, it follows two secretaries working at the American Embassy in Moscow, whose worlds are turned upside down following the death of their husbands. They then become operatives for the CIA. <\/p>\n

Off Campus<\/p>\n

Off Campus will be available on Prime Video from 13 May.<\/p>\n

If you got sucked in to the furore that surrounded The Summer I Turned Pretty, then Prime Video’s Off Campus<\/a> is sure to be one for you. <\/p>\n

Based on Elle Kennedy’s best-selling books, Off Campus centres on an elite ice hockey team and the women in their lives, following their loves, heartbreak, and that time of entering into adulthood. <\/p>\n

Good Omens <\/p>\n

Good Omens finale will arrive on Prime Video on 13 May.<\/p>\n

Michael Sheen’s Aziraphale and David Tennant’s Crowley will return for one last time to bid Good Omens a farewell in one final episode, in what’s been described as their “most epic and personal adventure yet”.<\/p>\n

After the devastating fracture between this beloved pair at the end of season two<\/a>, Good Omens’ feature-length finale has teased that “Aziraphale and Crowley must confront their relationship, heal old wounds and rediscover their bond” because the “fate of the universe hangs in the balance”. <\/p>\n
