A teenage influencer who appeared on a Channel 5 documentary died from an overdose in supported accommodation, a court heard.<\/p>\n

The inquest <\/a>into the death of Princess-Bliss Dickson was opened yesterday in Essex and was immediately suspended while police <\/a>investigate the circumstances of her tragic death.<\/p>\n

Princess, 16, died in supported accommodation in Waltham Abbey on February 7 this year. She first entered the public eye aged four when she appeared on the 2014 Channel 5 documentary Blinging Up Baby.<\/p>\n

The show, which featured mums who spent thousands on bling for their kids, followed her mother Sophie-May Dickson who revealed she loved to give the then four-year-old Princess and her younger sister, two, pedicures, spray tans and hair extensions.<\/p>\n

Princess\u2019 family were present at the opening of the inquest at County Hall in Chelmsford. Senior coroner for Essex, Lincoln Brooke opened the proceedings by addressing the family.<\/p>\n

She said: \u201cMy deep condolences to all of you, and I suspect to a great many family and friends that are not here today.\u201d<\/p>\n

Coroner\u2019s officer Matthew Austin gave further details about Princess\u2019 passing, saying she was living in private supported accommodation in Buxton Road, Waltham Abbey, at the time of her death.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cShe was found unresponsive in bed. An ambulance was called and her death was confirmed at the scene. Essex Police<\/a> are carrying out a police investigation into the death.\u201d<\/p>\n

A post mortem examination carried out at Great Ormond Street Hospital by Dr Liina Palm (CORR) gave an initial cause of death as acute quetiapine toxicity. Quetiapine is a prescription-only medication used to treat severe depression, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.<\/p>\n

Coroner Mr Brookes said he would suspend the coronial investigation as \u201cpriority must be given to the police investigation.\u201d Essex coroner Sonia Hayes will take over inquest proceedings at a later date and will periodically review the case, he added.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Essex County Council said: “We are very saddened to learn about this death that took place on February 7 this year in supported accommodation.<\/p>\n

“We are working closely with the police and Ofsted as the local safeguarding authority. We will be unable to comment further while the investigation progresses.”<\/p>\n

Essex Police said: \u201cAs part of the coronial process, we\u2019re carrying out enquiries into the circumstances around the death of a teenage girl.
