Britain\u2019s Got Talent\u00a0finalist\u00a0Matty Juniosa\u00a0has told how performances in Glasgow\u2019s Horseshoe Bar led to producers from the STV show approaching him \u201cmultiple times\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Filipino singer made history on last Saturday\u2019s\u00a0Britain\u2019s Got Talent\u00a0semi-final after becoming the only contestant to ever receive two Golden Buzzers from the judges, sending him straight to the final on May 30.<\/p>\n

His performance of Aerosmith\u2019s \u2018Dream On\u2019 has racked up\u00a0more than 2.4 million YouTube views\u00a0in just five days.<\/p>\n

Matty joined\u00a0Ewen Cameron\u00a0and\u00a0Cat Harvey\u00a0on\u00a0STV Radio\u2019s\u00a0Ewen and Cat at Breakfast on Friday for an exclusive chat and live performance in the studio.<\/p>\n

He discussed his move to Scotland from the Philippines in 2022 to train at Glasgow\u2019s Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS) and how he performed in bars across the city while also working as a waiter.<\/p>\n

Matty said:\u00a0\u201cYou know the whole quotation of \u2018People Make Glasgow\u2019? It truly was the whole thing of what Glasgow is. I genuinely felt so welcome right away on the first day. Right away, it felt like family.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd the accent! When Filipinos speak English, it\u2019s quite strong too, with the Rs and the Bs and the Ps.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo every day I\u2019d wake and say, \u2018I\u2019m just in the Philippines\u2019 \u2013 apart from the weather. There\u2019s no sun in here, but you know what, the people are the light.\u201d<\/p>\n

Matty also explained why he chose to move to Glasgow rather than any other UK city.<\/p>\n

He said:\u00a0\u201cI wanted to do something quite out of pocket, because it would\u2019ve been so typical to go down south in London and all that.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn terms of the schools I applied for in the whole world, Glasgow\u2019s RCS was the most appealing to me, because I grew up watching James McAvoy, Ncuti Gatwa\u00a0[and]\u00a0David Tennant. These are legends from RCS \u2013 I was like, \u2018This is where I should be\u2019. And I wanted to meet\u00a0[Glasgow pub singers]\u00a0Robert and May Miller.<\/p>\n

\u201c[The\u00a0Britain\u2019s Got Talent\u00a0producers]\u00a0actually approached me multiple times because they kept finding videos of me at Horseshoe Bar.\u201d<\/p>\n
