Rialto Pictures<\/a> and Studiocanal have officially partnered for the upcoming theatrical rerelease of Arnold Schwarzenegger<\/a>\u2018s iconic sci-fi action movie Terminator 2: Judgment Day<\/a>. It served as the second installment of James Cameron<\/a>\u2018s popular film franchise. During its 1991 debut, the film was a massive box office success, grossing around $519 million worldwide.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn this sequel set eleven years after The Terminator, young John Connor, the key to civilization\u2019s victory over a future robot uprising, is the target of the shape-shifting T-1000, a Terminator sent from the future to kill him. Another Terminator, the revamped T-800, has been sent back to protect the boy. As John and his mother go on the run with the T-800, the boy forms an unexpected bond with the robot,\u201d reads the official synopsis. <\/p>\n

In honor of its 35th anniversary, Terminator 2: Judgment Day will officially return to select theaters for a limited time, starting from May 22 through July 5. It will also be presented in 4K, 4K 3D, 35mm, and 70mm prints. <\/p>\n

Terminator 2: Judgment Day was directed by Cameron, who co-wrote the screenplay with William Wisher. The movie also starred Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor, Edward Furlong as John Connor, and Robert Patrick as T-1000.
