\n MyBuilder.com is urging homeowners to be mindful of hedgehogs this spring as part of its \u2018Help the Hedgehogs\u2019 campaign, which highlights daily dangers hedgehogs face in gardens.\n<\/p>\n
\n The advice comes during Hedgehog Awareness Week, running from May 3 to May 9, which aims to raise awareness of the species\u2019 declining numbers and ways the public can help.\n<\/p>\n

\n Andy Simms from MyBuilder.com said: “It can be difficult to know how to make meaningful contributions to saving wildlife, but actually, simple changes in our gardens can be a brilliant place to start – and with big results.\n<\/p>\n
\n “What\u2019s great is that it\u2019s easy to do – and not expensive.\n<\/p>\n
\n “From covering open water and fitting a ramp in ponds to providing a little food, we can all make these changes and do our part.”\n<\/p>\n
\n Ms Vass, chief executive for the British Hedgehog Preservation Society, said: “Every year, thousands of hedgehogs are needlessly injured or killed in our gardens by mowers, strimmers, pesticides, netting and uncovered drains.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Much of this can be avoided with just a few simple actions.\n<\/p>\n
