Leeds United forward Noah Okafor has equaled the record for most goals scored by a Swiss player in a single Premier League season, with 8 goals in the 2025/26 campaign.

At 25 years old, Okafor, a summer signing from AC Milan, has been a consistent performer for Leeds. His 8 goals this season have placed him level with former Stoke City and Liverpool winger Xherdan Shaqiri, who also scored 8 goals in the 2017/18 season. Okafor’s tally puts him at the top of an exclusive list of Swiss players in the Premier League.

A Solid Campaign

Okafor’s breakthrough into English football has been nothing short of impressive. After scoring his first goal for Leeds United in a 3-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers in September, the Swiss forward has gone on to add further goals throughout the season.

His strikes against Tottenham Hotspur, Nottingham Forest, Chelsea, and a historic brace in Leeds’ memorable 2-1 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford showcased his ability to deliver in big moments. Okafor rounded out his tally with a goal in the return fixture against Wolves and another in Leeds’ 3-1 win over Burnley, taking his season total to 8 goals.

Top Swiss Scorers in the Premier League

With 8 goals this season, Okafor has now matched Shaqiri’s record for Swiss players in a single Premier League campaign. Here are the top five Swiss players by goals in a single Premier League season:

Okafor’s achievement has placed him in rare company, matching Shaqiri’s impressive record, and cementing his status as one of the most prolific Swiss forwards in Premier League history. In terms of total Premier League goals, Okafor now sits fourth on the all-time Swiss list, with Shaqiri leading the charge on 22 goals, followed by Schär and Xhaka, both on 18.

The Final Three Matches

With three games left in Leeds United’s 2025/26 Premier League season – against Tottenham Hotspur, Brighton & Hove Albion, and West Ham United – Okafor has the chance to go one better than Shaqiri and claim the record outright. A goal in any of these remaining matches would see him set a new benchmark for Swiss goal-scoring excellence in the Premier League.

[33
218,101,56,54,55
post-562731","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-football","tag-football","tag-sports","tag-uk","tag-united-kingdom","tag-unitedkingdom
["GET
