Prince Harry<\/a> has been hit with a wave of criticism in the Channel 5<\/a> documentary Prince Harry<\/a>: My Terrible Year, with royal experts savaging both his behaviour and his struggling media ventures. Royal biographer Ingrid Seward accused Harry of crossing the line when it came to Princess Kate<\/a>, telling viewers: \u201cHe rubbished Kate for money he didn\u2019t even need \u2013 that will not be easily forgiven.\u201d The remark referred to claims Harry has made in recent years, which some insiders say have worsened family tensions.<\/p>\n

Another royal expert delivered an equally brutal assessment of Harry and Meghan<\/a>\u2019s career shift since stepping back from royal duties, skewering their lack of star power outside the monarchy. \u201cThey believe they\u2019re really talented but when it comes down to it they\u2019re not. One\u2019s an actress, one\u2019s a royal. That\u2019s it,\u201d the commentator said. They went on to highlight Harry\u2019s Netflix<\/a> polo documentary as a major misstep.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis Polo documentary didn\u2019t perform well and that was a knock. He thought they were interested in him at the start but it turns out they were only interested in his revelations.<\/p>\n

“He\u2019s trying to find freedom and it keeps falling flat \u2013 it\u2019s very difficult for him.\u201d<\/p>\n

The polo series, intended to give an insider\u2019s look at Harry\u2019s beloved sport, was torn apart by critics.<\/p>\n

Outlets including The Guardian and Decider branded it \u201cboring,\u201d \u201ctedious\u201d and \u201ca dull indulgence,\u201d with some reviewers questioning why it was made at all. Viewership numbers reportedly fell far short of expectations, dealing a blow to the couple\u2019s $100 million Netflix<\/a> deal.<\/p>\n

Their other big Netflix<\/a> project this year \u2013 Meghan\u2019s lifestyle series With Love, Meghan \u2013 fared not much better. The cooking and entertaining show landed at just #383 in Netflix<\/a>\u2019s global charts with 5.3 million views, according to official figures.<\/p>\n

Reviews were savage: The Guardian dismissed it as vacuous fluff, Variety called it \u201can ego trip not worth taking,\u201d and The Economist said it was \u201cout of touch with the times.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Channel 5 documentary didn\u2019t just focus on the Sussexes\u2019 media ventures \u2013 it also explored Harry\u2019s strained family ties, his absence from key royal events, and his diminishing public favour in the UK.<\/p>\n

Psychologists and historians weighed in on how his approach to public life is alienating him from both the royal family and the British public.<\/p>\n

Since its debut three years ago, Harry and Meghan\u2019s media brand has relied heavily on their personal story.<\/p>\n

But with repeated criticism that they have no hit content beyond royal revelations, experts warn that their transition from palace to production may be faltering.<\/p>\n
