With a killer loose on Coronation Street and villains dropping like flies, anyone could go at any time. But which classic Weatherfield legend is about to bid \u2018ta-ra\u2019 to the street forever? <\/p>\n
Murder week has exploded onto the Cobbles<\/a>, and five of Corrie\u2019s biggest baddies were in with a chance of finding themselves in need of Shuttleworth\u2019s Independent Funeral Service. The rogues gallery cluded violent abuser\u00a0Theo Silverton<\/a>\u00a0(James Cartwright<\/a>), bunny-boiling baddie\u00a0Jodie Ramsey<\/a>\u00a0(Olivia Frances-Brown<\/a>), world\u2019s worst son\u00a0Carl Webster<\/a>\u00a0(Jonathan Howard<\/a>), predatory child groomer \u00a0Megan Walsh<\/a>\u00a0(Beth Nixon<\/a>) and killer landlady Maggie Driscoll<\/a>.<\/p>\n \t\t While nobody is shedding too many tears over one of these wrong\u2019uns getting bumped off, actress Pauline McLynn, who plays Maggie Driscoll, recently teased that there may be a second death<\/a>. <\/p>\n If that\u2019s the case, there\u2019s one Corrie stalwart that it\u2019s really going to hurt us to say goodbye to. <\/p>\n Cassie Plummer<\/a>, played by Brookside\u2019s own, the legendary Claire Sweeney<\/a>.<\/p>\n \t\t The character\u2019s exit was announced earlier this year<\/a>, after Claire was cast as cast as Miss Hannigan in the UK tour of musical Annie. <\/p>\n This is sure to have send massive shockwaves through the Street, especially for Cassie\u2019s son Tyrone Dobbs<\/a>\u2019 (Alan Halsall<\/a>), her mother Evelyn Plummer<\/a>\u00a0(Maureen Lipman<\/a>), and\u00a0of course, her boyfriend, Weatherfield legend Steve McDonald Steve McDonald<\/a>\u00a0(Simon Gregson<\/a>).<\/p>\n Cassie\u2019s undergone a real transformation since her arrival on Coronation Street, where she was determined to connect with her son and overcome her drug addiction<\/a>.<\/p>\n With a little help from her family, Cassie cleaned up her act and turned her life around \u2013 well, aside from that little innocent when she very nearly killed Ken Barlow<\/a>\u00a0(William Roache<\/a>) by lacing his drinks with drugs so she wouldn\u2019t lose her job as his carer.<\/p>\n Recently, Cassie\u2019s relationship with long-term boyfriend Steve McDonald was tested when she was gearing up to pop the question<\/a>\u2026 only for the proposal to be put on ice thanks to the death of Steve\u2019s father<\/a>, Jim McDonald (Charles Lawson).<\/p>\n \t\t This led to a worrying bit of foreshadowing<\/a> on the day of Jim\u2019s funeral, when Tracy Barlow<\/a> (Kate Ford<\/a>) sarcastically wonderedCassie who would turn up to Cassie\u2019s funeral, to which quipped that it would be \u2018packed to the rafters\u2019. What we do know is that Cassie\u2019s exit will have a lot to do with Tyrone\u2026<\/p>\n If there\u2019s one person on Corrie that means more to Cassie than Steve, it\u2019s her boy.<\/p>\n It\u2019s a relationship that didn\u2019t get off to the best start \u2013 namely because Cassie abandoned Tyrone at a police station at birth due to her drug addiction, a fact that his grandmother Evelyn covered up for years. <\/p>\n \t\t Nevertheless, Tyrone trusted Evelyn and embraced her into his home, despite warnings from Evelyn, his wife Fiz <\/a>(Jennie McAlpine<\/a>) and others. <\/p>\n Despite her relapses and manipulative behaviour, Cassie managed to stay in her son\u2019s life and be the other he always wanted through ups and downs\u2026 like the time he discovered her mum\u2019s relationship with Steve by walking in on them together. Oops!<\/p>\n \t\t But the cat will be well and truly among the pigeons in upcoming episodes of Coronation Street, when a face from Cassie\u2019s past tests her relationship with Tyrone and Steve.<\/p>\n After a recent chat with Coronation Street producer Kate Brooks, we can confirm that Cassie\u2019s exit will involve Tyrone\u2019s dad, who comes to Weatherfield in search of a better relationship with his boy.<\/p>\n \u2018As you know, Cassie\u2019s leaving us, and so it will contribute to her\u00a0exit, which is going to be massive and quite\u00a0explosive.\u2019 Kate teased. \u2018It\u2019ll be full of all the\u00a0twists\u00a0and turns that you can come to expect from an\u00a0exit. He comes into the world of Fiz and Tyrone. Tyrone\u2019s in the mindset of, \u2018I\u2019m in my 40s, I\u2019ve survived this long\u00a0without a dad. The dad is very keen to connect\u00a0with\u00a0Tyrone.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n \u2018It\u2019s not long before the dad makes eyes at one of the residents, and maybe a bit of a relationship starts there. It\u2019s very domesticated. It really shines a spotlight on Fiz and Tyrone as a couple and that dynamic as a family.\u2019<\/p>\n Kate also revealed that the return of Daddy Dobbs will not go down well with Cassie.<\/p>\n \u2018Cassie is, needless to say, not happy that this guy has turned back up.\u2019<\/p>\n Does Tyrone\u2019s dad steal Cassie\u2019s heart away from Steve?
