Deontay Wilder<\/a> is in a hurry to get back to world title level in the final chapter of his long career.<\/p>\n

Wilder took more than a year out of the ring following a points loss to Joseph Parker<\/a> in December 2023 and a KO defeat to Zhilei Zhang in 2024.<\/p>\n

They came after another layoff following the former WBC heavyweight champion losing two out of three brutal fights with Tyson Fury<\/a> in previous years.<\/p>\n

Wilder last fought in June when he beat Tyrell Herndon<\/a> and is now 39-years-old, so is looking to secure big fights as quickly as possible.<\/p>\n

Speaking on The Fighter\u2019s Voice<\/a>, Wilder named one potential opponent as two-time former unified ruler Anthony Joshua<\/a>, stating he has \u2018no time to take a step back\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cMost definitely [the AJ fight will happen]\u2026 we\u2019re still in it and we\u2019re still active and we\u2019re gonna meet each other.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know it\u2019s a lot of great things that has been going on in boxing you know with different people that\u2019s getting involved and making the best fights happen at this appropriate time, you know and I\u2019m looking forward to it all.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t have no time to take no steps back, you know we have a strategic plan that we have planned set for and we\u2019re following along with it but if we have to take certain shortcuts and certain things we will do so. I am a veteran in this business at this moment in time and I love every bit of it.\u201d<\/p>\n
