We’ve got a little improvement coming to the Xbox Series X, starting today for some Xbox Insiders!<\/p>\n

It’s been shared by Xbox engineer Eden Marie on social media that anyone who uses their Xbox Series X in 4K resolution will be benefiting from a resolution increase for gamerpics<\/a> and “certain game or achievement art”.<\/p>\n

Marie actually describes this as a “fix”, so it’s possible that its absence in the past was actually an error, but nevertheless it’s now being officially implemented in this latest update.<\/p>\n

In some follow-up replies, Marie clarifies that it’s just the resolution that’s changing with these images (they’re not being replaced with higher-quality versions or anything), and that the recent achievement refresh also offers visual improvements<\/a> \u2014 that one’s also just for Xbox Insiders<\/a> for now, but will be part of the May 2026 update later this month.<\/p>\n

We assume the 4K resolution increase for these gamerpics and other artwork might go into the May update for all Xbox users too, but either way, we’ll let you know in a few weeks’ time. Just keep in mind that this is for Xbox Series X only, and there’s no word on a resolution bump when it comes to the Xbox Series S.<\/p>\n
