Arthur Mourgue has been given a slim chance to feature this week in the Challenge Cup semi-finals.\"Hull<\/p>\n

Hull KR full-back Arthur Mourgue is nearing his return to action from injury.<\/p>\n

Arthur Mourgue\u2019s long road to recovery is nearly over, with the Hull KR<\/a> full-back nearing full fitness after the first long-term injury of his career.<\/p>\n

The French international has been sidelined since suffering a torn pectoral muscle during the World Club Challenge against Brisbane Broncos in February. Mourgue was forced off in the first half at the MKM Stadium, though the Robins went on to secure an emphatic victory and complete a clean sweep of trophies over the past 12 months.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old\u2019s return had been pencilled in for Hull KR\u2019s Super League Round 11 clash with Leigh Leopards<\/a>. However, there remains a slim chance he could feature as early as this week in the Challenge Cup semi-final against Warrington Wolves.<\/p>\n

Head coach Willie Peters has stressed he will not take any risks after Mourgue\u2019s lengthy spell on the sidelines<\/a> – but the full-back could be named in the extended squad for Sunday\u2019s tie at the Eco-Power Stadium.<\/p>\n

It has been a long time coming for Mourgue, while utility Jack Broadbent has been playing in his absence at full-back – helping Hull KR to six wins from nine to climb to fourth in the table.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Sky Sports\u2019 The Bench<\/a>, Mourgue recently reflected on the injury, with his rehabilitation now nearing completion.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m really excited,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been quite a long time for me, and the first injury for me. It\u2019s one of the biggest – it was a torn pec just before half-time, and I felt it straight away.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s fine now. I went to see a specialist, and I\u2019m really happy with where I\u2019m at.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was scared to be back late, but it\u2019s looking like I\u2019ll be on time.\u201d<\/p>\n
