Hull KR full-back Arthur Mourgue has spoken about the pec injury that has sidelined him for almost three months and confirmed when he\u2019s expected to return.<\/p>\n

The French full-back went down just minutes before half-time in the World Club Challenge win over Brisbane Broncos with the 27-year-old confirmed to have torn his pectoral muscle<\/a>.<\/p>\n

That meant surgery with Mourgue left behind whilst Hull KR travelled to Las Vegas and the former Catalans man has revealed that it was his first major injury, though he\u2019s recovered well.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m really excited, it\u2019s been quite a long time for me. It was the first surgery for me. I\u2019d had a syndesmosis (before) but I didn\u2019t have surgery,\u201d Mourgue said on Sky Sports\u2019\u00a0The Bench\u00a0<\/a>podcast.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s fine now. I went to see a specialist, and I\u2019m really happy with where I\u2019m at. Strength-wise, it\u2019s pretty good. I\u2019m really happy with where I\u2019m at.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also confirmed that he\u2019s in line for a return next week against Leigh Leopards<\/a> in round 11 of Super League, noting:\u00a0\u201cI was scared to be back late but it\u2019s looking like I\u2019m going to be on time. That\u2019s the plan.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hull KR full-back on repaying fan faith<\/p>\n

Arriving early in the 2025 season, it\u2019s fair to say that swapping Perpignan for east Hull was a culture shock for Mourgue but one thing he\u2019s become enamoured with is the gameday experience at KR.<\/p>\n

\u201cOver here, when I arrived, it was like a new life for me,\u201d he said, adding: \u201cIt\u2019s really stuck with me, A Little Respect before the games, the Red Red Robin singing, that atmosphere shocked me on the first game.\u201d<\/p>\n

On the fans, he said:\u00a0\u201cReally passionate and that\u2019s why you want to deliver when you play, to give them back what they give to you.<\/p>\n

\u201cI reckon every time I hear this song (A Little Respect), I\u2019m on. The goosebumps before the game, I love to hear them singing it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Looking ahead, Mourgue confirmed he still has two years on his contract beyond 2026.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe plan is to do the best I can to help this team win more trophies and then we\u2019ll see what happens from there.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously, I\u2019m enjoying my time over here so far. It\u2019s been good for me, I\u2019ve been able to take my game to another level.\u201d<\/p>\n
