The pairing was confirmed following the tournament draw conducted on Monday afternoon, May 4, 2026, for the WTA 1000 event held at the Foro Italico.<\/p>\n<p>The upcoming match marks the first career meeting between the two athletes on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.harianbasis.co\/en\/tag\/wta-tour\" title=\"WTA Tour\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">WTA Tour<\/a>. Tjen, currently 23 years old, enters the competition ranked 40th in the world, while Stearns holds the 49th position in the global rankings according to tournament data.<\/p>\n<p>The Italian Open represents the sixth WTA 1000 tournament for Tjen in the 2026 calendar year.
