Paul hollywood has appealed to his 670,000 followers on Instagram<\/p>\n

Great British Bake Off judge Paul Hollywood<\/a> has appealed for witnesses after his brother was allegedly punched to the floor<\/a> and kicked in the face<\/a> in a \u201cnasty\u201d attack. At around 7.10pm on Friday, August 8, a man in his 50s was walking his dog on Links View Playing Fields in Leasowe<\/a>, near Shackleton Road.<\/a><\/p>\n

The man\u2019s dog and another dog, which was being walked by another male, began barking at each other. The dogs were separated by the other male who was said to become irate. As the man walked away he was approached from behind and punched to the floor.<\/a><\/p>\n

He was then kicked in the face and back before the male made off. The man suffered injuries to his back and face and was taken to hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n

Merseyside Police<\/a> has launched an investigation. Witness and CCTV enquiries are ongoing and officers are appealing for anyone with information to contact the force.<\/p>\n

Appealing to 670,000 followers on Instagram, Paul Hollywood<\/a>, says it was his brother Lee who was attacked and asked the public to come forward with any information.<\/p>\n

In a post he said: “If you have information regarding this attack on Friday night, the person in question who was attacked is my brother Lee. Any information please follow details above Thankyou.” He shared a video of the Merseyside Police appeal.<\/p>\n

Detective Inspector Phil Ryan said: “This was a nasty and unprovoked assault which left the man needing hospital treatment.<\/p>\n

“We are appealing for anyone who was in the area of Links View Playing Fields or Shackleton Road at around 7pm last night who heard or saw the incident or saw the male leaving the area to contact us.”<\/p>\n
