Sky Sports pundit Roy Keane has revealed his ideal pick for the vacant Manchester United head coach role ahead of interim manager Michael Carrick.<\/p>\n

Michael Carrick<\/a> has now been tipped as one of the frontrunners to land the Manchester United manager<\/a> role on a permanent basis this summer.<\/p>\n

The Red Devils have been linked with several different names in the hunt for their next manager, including Andoni Iraola<\/a>, Luis Enrique and Julian Nagelsmann.<\/p>\n

United<\/a> have been without a permanent head coach since January after Ineos<\/a> appointed Carrick as interim boss following Ruben Amorim<\/a>\u2019s sacking.<\/p>\n

Luis Enrique, who is considered one of the best managers in the world, has been widely hailed for his transformative work at Paris Saint-Germain since 2023.<\/p>\n

The Spaniard led Paris Saint-Germain to a continental treble last season and PSG have reached the Champions League final once again in the current campaign.<\/p>\n

Enrique\u2019s current contract with PSG runs until 2027, but the Ligue 1 outfit are in talks with the former Barcelona and Spain manager over a new deal at the club.<\/p>\n

Speaking on The Overlap\u2019s Stick to Football<\/a> podcast, Roy Keane<\/a> has been impressed with Enrique\u2019s impact as a manager at both club level and on the international stage.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut we go back to it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAny business or industry, do we think there\u2019s better options? On paper, there is. But that doesn\u2019t mean to say there is.<\/p>\n

\u201cI like Enrique. Of course, I like Enrique for what he\u2019s done. He\u2019s got that experience at an international level. He seems like a good character.\u201d<\/p>\n

Enrique\u2019s dominant PSG side will defend their Champions League crown against Premier League side Arsenal on 30th May at the Puskas Arena in Budapest, Hungary.<\/p>\n

PSG are also leading the Ligue 1 title race under Enrique this season, with the French side six points clear with only three league matches remaining.<\/p>\n

United legend<\/a> Keane admitted that he is a big fan of how Enrique\u2019s teams have played under him and thinks he would be the perfect appointment at the Red Devils.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis team, he gets his teams to run,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd any manager who gets his players, top players, to run, I\u2019ll tell you, that\u2019s a big thumbs up. But again, people don\u2019t look at Man United anymore.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s probably thinking, \u2018I\u2019ll won\u2019t go to Man United with all your issues and I want to win the big prizes every year.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Michael Carrick has three Premier League matches left to oversee in his interim head coach reign before the end of the 2025-26 campaign at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n
