A man has been arrested on suspicion of a public order offence and possession of an offensive weapon near the home of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.<\/p>\n

Norfolk police said: \u201cOfficers were called to Wolferton shortly after 7.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 6 May 2026) following a report a man was behaving in an intimidating manner in the village.<\/p>\n

\u201cOfficers attended, and the man was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence and possession of an offensive weapon. He was taken to King\u2019s Lynn police investigation centre for questioning and remains in custody.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mountbatten-Windsor, who was said to be accompanied by a member of his private security detail, reportedly rushed towards his car, which was parked nearby, and drove away at speed as the suspect allegedly tried to sprint after him.<\/p>\n

The Telegraph reported that the incident took place on public land in a lane close to the Sandringham Royal Parkland and to Marsh Farm, the property on the Sandringham Estate to which Mountbatten-Windsor relocated after he was forced to leave Royal Lodge in Windsor<\/a> last year.<\/p>\n

Buckingham Palace declined to comment. Mountbatten-Windsor\u2019s representatives have not yet responded to a request for a comment.<\/p>\n

Mountbatten-Windsor is provided with an annual stipend by his brother, King Charles, which includes an allowance made for the cost of private security but it is up to the former duke how he uses this, it is understood.<\/p>\n

He was arrested in February \u2013 on his 66th birthday \u2013 on suspicion of misconduct in public office after allegations he shared sensitive information with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein during his time as the UK\u2019s trade envoy. He has since been released under investigation.<\/p>\n
