This will be the first fight for the 37-year-old former two-division world champion \u2018Swift\u2019 Garcia (37-4, 21 KOs) in over a year since being stopped in the ninth round by WBA middleweight champion Erislandy Lara on September 14th, 2024.<\/p>\n
Danny looked like he didn\u2019t belong in the ring with Lara. Garcia hadn\u2019t fought in two years going into that contest. It was a wrong-headed idea to challenge a talented fighter like Erislandy after that long a layoff.<\/p>\n

That fight took a lot out of both fighters.<\/p>\n Danny\u2019s Comeback: A Question<\/p>\n The 18-year professional Garcia is too small to be fighting at 154. His best weight class was at 140, but it might be too hard for him to get back down to that division at his age. Even if he did, the competition is too good for him at his age. Even if Danny were in his prime, he\u2019d have massive problems going up against fighters like Gary Antuanne Russell, Richardson Hitchins, Teofimo Lopez, and Subriel Matias.<\/p>\n
