Alan Carr<\/a> has claimed he has sworn off love and romance, declaring: \u201cThat\u2019s it. No more sex. Shop\u2019s closed.\u201d<\/p>\n

The comedian, who won last year\u2019s smash hit first series of Celebrity Traitors<\/a>, had previously declared that he hoped to find love in 2026, but in a new interview has walked back on his statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve got no more romance in me. I\u2019ve had enough. Done at 50. That\u2019s it. No more sex. Shop\u2019s closed, gone,\u201d he told The Telegraph<\/a>. \u201cI might as well chemically castrate myself.\u201d<\/p>\n

Carr added that he no longer uses dating apps, before seeming to come around \u2013 mid-conversation \u2013 to the idea of meeting \u201cthe one\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cListen, if I\u2019m up in Scotland\u2026 remember that film Mrs Brown with Judi Dench falling in love with Billy Connolly? If that happens, if I\u2019m riding on a horse and some fit Scottish man in a kilt comes out and scoops me up, I wouldn\u2019t say no.\u201d<\/p>\n

Carr is currently spending time in Scotland, having bought a \u00a33.25m castle in the Scottish Borders, which comes with 17 bedrooms. The purchase serves as the premise for a new Disney+ reality series starring Carr<\/a> \u2013 titled Castle Man \u2013 in which he will redecorate his new home.<\/p>\n

The 49-year-old, who for eight years hosted the hit chat show Alan Carr: Chatty Man for Channel 4, was previously married to actor and comedian Paul Drayton. They were together for 10 years before marrying in 2018, but announced their separation in 2022.<\/p>\n

In 2023, Carr joked that he was in a \u201cslaggy phase\u201d following his divorce<\/a>, and during an episode of his Life\u2019s a Beach podcast asked the Scissor Sisters frontman Jake Shears if he \u201cknew anyone\u201d he could date. \u201cI want to be a slag,\u201d Carr joked. \u201cBut to be a slag you need someone to be slaggy with.\u201d<\/p>\n

Carr and Drayton were married by the pop star Adele in Los Angeles in 2018. The singer became ordained so she could marry the pair.<\/p>\n

Announcing their split, a spokesperson for the pair said: \u201cAfter 13 years as a couple and three years of marriage, Alan Carr and Paul Drayton would like to announce they are separating. They have jointly and amicably made the difficult decision to divorce and go their separate ways.\u201d<\/p>\n

In an appearance on the panel of 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown after the split, Carr joked that he got \u201ccustody of Adele\u201d while Drayton got \u201ccustody of Gok Wan during the weekends\u201d.<\/p>\n

Whatever the condition of Carr\u2019s love life, he\u2019s at least not struggling for employment at the moment. Following the success of his stint on Celebrity Traitors, Carr has presented the Channel 4 game show Secret Genius and further series of his home decoration show Amanda and Alan\u2019s Greek Job alongside Amanda Holden.
