During the visit, he met with the town\u2019s mayor, Ana Ku\u010di\u0107, who later shared details of their meeting on social media.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Ku\u010di\u0107 described the meeting as a special occasion and said she was impressed by the actor\u2019s approachable and friendly manner. <\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The pair discussed the island, its people and the natural beauty that Malkovich experienced during his stay on Lo\u0161inj.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-164642\" class=\"size-full wp-image-164642\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/malkovich.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1080\" height=\"1351\"  \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-164642\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">John Malkovich and Mali Lo\u0161inj mayor Ana Ku\u010di\u0107 (Photo: Facebook)<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The mayor also recommended that the actor visit the Museum of Apoxyomenos, home to one of Croatia\u2019s most valuable museum exhibits, the ancient bronze statue of Apoxyomenos, which has previously been displayed in museums around the world.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">As a gift marking his visit, Ku\u010di\u0107 presented Malkovich with the book Golden Book of Lo\u0161inj Maritime Heritage by Dr Julijan Sokoli\u0107, including a personal dedication.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">According to the mayor, Malkovich said he plans to return to Lo\u0161inj again in the future with his family.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-164511\" class=\"size-full wp-image-164511\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/john-malkovich-zagreb.jpg\" alt=\"Actor John Malkovich receives Croatian citizenship in Zagreb\" width=\"827\" height=\"478\"  \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-164511\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Actor John Malkovich receives Croatian citizenship in Zagreb (Photo: Davor Bo\u017einovi\u0107\/X)<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Malkovich\u2019s connection to Croatia dates back several generations.
