{"id":576940,"date":"2026-05-10T20:19:09","date_gmt":"2026-05-10T20:19:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/576940\/"},"modified":"2026-05-10T20:19:09","modified_gmt":"2026-05-10T20:19:09","slug":"dame-mary-berry-immensely-honoured-by-bafta-recognition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/576940\/","title":{"rendered":"Dame Mary Berry &#8216;immensely honoured&#8217; by Bafta recognition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Bafta chief executive Jane Millichip said it had been a &#8220;particularly strong year&#8221; for television.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Speaking to the Press Association before the event at the Royal Festival Hall in London, she said: &#8220;This is the last awards of the season for Bafta, and it pretty much closes the awards season itself, so it always feels really celebratory.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Millichip praised the past year of TV as having &#8220;really stand-out water cooler moments&#8221;, adding: &#8220;Whether it&#8217;s comedy, entertainment or drama: Adolescence, Celebrity Traitors, Amandaland, Last One Laughing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;They are all really powerful shows in their own right, and I think it&#8217;s an amazing platform for British talent.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The ceremony will be hosted by Taskmaster star Greg Davies and will air on BBC One at 7pm.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Bafta chief executive Jane Millichip said it had been a &#8220;particularly strong year&#8221; for television.
