Iga Swiatek is back to winning ways at the Cincinnati Open after falling in the Canadian Open round of 16.<\/p>\n

Swiatek suffered a shock loss to Clara Tauson<\/a> in Montreal, where the Dane also beat Madison Keys before losing to Naomi Osaka.<\/p>\n

Osaka then lost the Canadian Open final to Victoria Mboko, with both players since opting to skip the Cincinnati Open<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But WTA<\/a> number three Swiatek<\/a> is involved, with the Pole into round three after beating Anastasia Potapova.<\/p>\n

The Wimbledon champion was handed a bye into the second round, where the third seed defeated Potapova 6-1, 6-4.<\/p>\n

She spoke to Tennis Channel after the win, where she was joined by ATP<\/a> ace Daniil Medvedev<\/a>, who like Swiatek is using the new Technifibre rackets.<\/p>\n

And asked what part of the Russian\u2019s game she would like to adapt in her own, Swiatek replied: \u201cI would say the serve obviously, because I wasn\u2019t always the best server, and Daniil likes his serve.<\/p>\n

\u201cI always consider Daniil like a guy who\u2019s winning a lot of points from the serve. So I guess that. And the ability to switch your positions on the return. I recently started to play my returns a little bit further back, not like Daniil, but a little bit more back.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I like the way he can play it flat and also add more spin and still make it long even though he\u2019s far away from the baseline. I love it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Daniil Medvedev says what he thinks of Iga Swiatek\u2019s level right now<\/p>\n

Medvedev was warming up for his practice during Swiatek\u2019s opener, and was able to catch part of the first set in Cincinnati.<\/p>\n

He is the 12th seed at the ATP Masters 1000 tournament, and begins his quest for success against Australian Adam Walton.<\/p>\n

Medvedev currently occupies number 15 in the ATP rankings, and revealed that he\u2019s using WTA star Swiatek for motivation at this stage of his career.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cIga is just playing great tennis. Congrats on Wimbledon. I don\u2019t think I saw you after. She\u2019s playing incredible, much better than me at the moment. I need to try to look up to her and keep it up.\u201d<\/p>\n

Like his Technifibre teammate, Medvedev took on the Canadian Open before Cincinnati, but managed just one win.<\/p>\n
