Gwyneth Paltrow<\/a>‘s teenage ‘nightmare’ was ‘obesity,’ according to a new bombshell biography.<\/p>\n

The much-talked about unofficial book, written by Amy Odell, claims that yearbook editors of Paltrow’s\u00a0posh all-girls private school Spence in Manhattan made the light-hearted jibe on her behalf.\u00a0<\/p>\n

For her part in the senior yearbook, Paltrow used a quote from the 1989 comedy Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, writing, ‘Be excellent to each other and party on, dudes,’ – according to an excerpt obtained by People<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, the yearbook editors also reportedly wrote a ‘Nightmare’ section and listed ‘obesity’ under the Oscar-winning actress.<\/p>\n

Gwyneth memorably played an obese woman when she took on the role of ‘Rosie’ in the Farrelly Brothers’ 2001 rom-com Shallow Hal.<\/p>\n

The actress has since expressed her regret over playing the part in the film, which many accused of being ‘fatphobic.’\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for the actress for comment.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Speaking about the role, Paltrow lamented to W Magazine in 2001: ‘The first day I tried the fat suit on, I was in the Tribeca Grand and I walked through the lobby. It was so sad. It was so disturbing. No one would make eye contact with me because I was obese.’<\/p>\n

‘I was wearing this black shirt with big snowmen on it. For some reason, the fat clothes they make… The clothes they make for women that are overweight are horrible. I felt humiliated because people were really dismissive.’<\/p>\n

It took special FX make-up artist Tony Gardner four hours to apply the 25lb prosthetic fat suit on the LA-born nepo baby, and the movie amassed $141.1M at the global box office despite dismal reviews<\/a> and fatphobic accusations.<\/p>\n

Ironically, Jack Black had to lose weight to play financier Harold ‘Hal’ Larson, who’s magically hypnotized into believing Rosie is skinny.<\/p>\n

In 2020, Gwyneth told Netflix <\/a>that Shallow Hal was her ‘least favorite performance’ and when her assistant Kevin Keating said he would’ve talked her out of it had he been there, she replied: ‘See what happened? Disaster.’<\/p>\n

Three years later, Paltrow’s Shallow Hal body double Ivy Snitzer told The Guardian<\/a> that she ‘starved herself’ for years after the film and underwent gastric band surgery, but the complicated recovery nearly ‘killed her.’<\/p>\n

‘Lauren was not happy about the fit,’ Odell noted.<\/p>\n

Gwyneth confessed on the April 22nd episode of her Goop podcast that she was ‘a little bit sick of’ her strict Paleo diet and was ‘getting back into eating sourdough bread, cheese \u2013 there, I said it. A little pasta.’<\/p>\n

On June 23, Paltrow revealed she ‘recently discovered’ <\/a>fat-burning, muscle-building EMSculpt Neo treatments, which she gushed was an ‘incredible, non-invasive treatment that has genuinely made a difference’ to her slim 5ft9in figure amid perimenopause.<\/p>\n

The UC Santa Barbara drop-out certainly had a leg up in the industry thanks to her actress mother Blythe Danner, showrunner father Bruce Paltrow, and filmmaker godfather Steven Spielberg.<\/p>\n
