We will keep you up to date with all of that \u2013 you guessed it \u2013 right here<\/a>.<\/p>\n 2026 PGA Championship betting tips<\/p>\n Right, the reason you\u2019re all here, so let\u2019s get into my picks. I\u2019ve got five names for you \u2013 my usual banker (and a next-best), an outsider and long shot, plus a bonus.<\/p>\n Remember, all prices are correct at the time of publishing and subject to change. And\u00a0please gamble responsibly<\/a>.<\/p>\n Let\u2019s start this week with\u2026<\/p>\n The Long Shot: Matt McCarty <\/p>\n 110\/1 e\/w (Betfred 12 Places 1\/5 Odds)<\/p>\n As someone who has finished T12 or better in four straight events, Matt McCarty looks like the type that could surprise at the PGA Championship this week.<\/p>\n He has been improving greatly in the past few weeks, and his T24 finish at Augusta, where he broke 70 on Sunday, adds to his T14 there on debut last year, showing some major pedigree. Now the argument could be that he just likes Augusta, as he\u2019s missed the cut in all his other majors, but I am instead hopeful that he will come good in the PGA and potentially the US Open going forward.<\/p>\n His approach play has been solid in his past two starts, ranking 3rd and 12th in SG Approach, and in those same two events he\u2019s ranked 13th and 22nd in SG Tee to Green, so his all round game looks to be firing.<\/p>\n Form lines of 39-24-12-10-9-10 are pleasing to the eye, but crucially have come in strong company, with the Heritage, Cadillac and Truist all featuring solid fields, since his top-25 at the Masters.<\/p>\n A three-time winner on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2024, McCarty quickly made the leap, winning in just his third PGA Tour start, and his second since becoming a member, showing his innate ability to win.<\/p>\n Projecting a major win for McCarty might be a lot to ask, but with the likes of Wyndham Clark and JJ Spaun winning the US Open of late, we have to slightly adjust our thought process, and realize jumps can be made quite quickly at this level again.<\/p>\n Kristoffer Reitan has just won as a PGA Tour rookie, Alex Fitzpatrick was in the hunt in his second PGA Tour start since getting his card at the Zurich, and while a major win is another step up from that, McCarty has already proven himself with a win, so the next step is a bigger event.<\/p>\n With 12 places on offer, I think it\u2019s worth chancing McCarty who is finding his feet again after a short slump, following his 2nd-place finish at the American Express, behind Scottie Scheffler. It certainly doesn\u2019t hurt that he already has a top-10 under his belt at a Donald Ross design, finishing T8 at the Wyndham Championship, and if you ignore a tough March, he\u2019s had a really good season so far.<\/p>\n While he\u2019s failed to make an impact in the majors outside of the Masters, he has at least played them all now so now what\u2019s to expect when he gets on site at one of these big events, and being the right side of 30 when breaking through at this level goes a long way, as there\u2019s plenty of time for improvement, especially as he only turned pro in 2021.<\/p>\n He\u2019s never come into a major in this sort of form before, albeit finishing 4th the week before the US Open last year, but this level of consistency, coupled with strong ball striking is new territory, so now is the time to back McCarty to do big things, especially with the multitude of places on offer.<\/p>\n The Outsider: Rickie Fowler\u00a0<\/p>\n 40\/1 e\/w (Bet365, Boyle Sports, Coral, Ladbrokes 10 Places 1\/5 Odds)<\/p>\n The year is 2026 and I\u2019m about to recommend a bet on Rickie Fowler to win a major. But that\u2019s less surprising than you think, and maybe I am just caught from the fact that at, one point, it looked like Fowler, Brandt Snedeker and Chris Wood were all going to win again on Sunday. In the end, Fowler fell short, and his bogey on 18 was disappointing, but he still came up two shots shy of Kristoffer Reitan anyway.<\/p>\n For moments on Sunday, Fowler was rolling back the years, and after going 5-under on the front-nine, he looked like a potential champion again. That would have been a first win in three years, but I think it\u2019s exactly that fact that encourages me a little.<\/p>\n When we talk about Fowler\u2019s fall from grace, it feels much longer, and that\u2019s maybe because it happened twice, as he went four years without a win before victory at the Rocket Mortgage in 2023 as well. Then you also remember that it was only three years ago that Fowler had the chance to win the US Open, sharing the driver\u2019s seat in that one for the first three rounds before a tough Sunday.<\/p>\n 2024 was lean, in fact he recorded just one top-20 before a 4th at the Zozo in his final start of the year, but he started the comeback trail again in 2025, with three top 10s in the second half of the year, and a 14th at the Open Championship all eye-catching. T7 at the Memorial in June was backed up by back-to-back top-7 finishes in the first two FedEx Cup events, where his season ended. He started to look like his old self again there, and while his start to this year was steady rather than explosive, he\u2019s now fitting into the latter category.<\/p>\n He started the year with three top-20s, then added a top-10 at Bay Hill. He was disappointing at Sawgrass, and missed back-to-back cuts in Texas, where in the latter event he was trying to get into the Masters field. He unfortunately missed out at Augusta, but he\u2019s clearly used that as motivation, posting three top-10 finishes in a row, including a T2 last week, which was obviously his best finish since the middle of 2023.<\/p>\n If you cast your mind back to 2014, when Fowler posted top-5 finishes in all four majors, something you are bound to hear about again this week, he telegraphed them with a good finish the week before.<\/p>\n The week before his T5 at the Masters he finished 6th in Houston. He finished 13th at TPC Southwind the week before finishing 2nd behind Martin Kaymer in the US Open, and he was 8th in Scotland before finishing runner-up again at The Open. Finally, he finished T8 at the WGC Bridgestone, before his 3rd in the 2014 PGA Championship. All this to say that a good warmup the week before a major has worked out well for Fowler in the past, and he\u2019s not scared of using up his best stuff in the preceding start.<\/p>\n His 2nd at Pinehurst in 2014 behind Kaymer shouldn\u2019t be overlooked, given that the resort\u2019s No.2 layout is a Donald Ross design, and perhaps most importantly, he has a strong record here at Aronimink.<\/p>\n In just his second full season on the PGA Tour, Fowler was the 54-hole leader here in the 2011 AT&T National, and while he failed to hold on and finished T13, he will have fond memories of that perhaps being one of the springboards to further success in his career.<\/p>\n Fowler then returned to this course again in 2018 to finish 8th at the BMW Championship. He spent all week in the top-8 and was better placed at halfway, where he sat in 3rd. He opened that week with three straight rounds of 65, just to show you how good the scoring was that week.<\/p>\n Outside of his around the green game, Fowler has been solid across the board, with his iron play improving and his putting the standout, as he ranks T12 for SG Putting.<\/p>\n Data Golf now has him as their 12th best player, and while that might be a bit much for some, it does reflect his recent run of three top 10s, all of which were in big events, and his overall consistency.<\/p>\n So, if you shudder at the initial sticker shock with his odds, just remember he\u2019s getting close to something like his best again, and a win looks to be on the horizon, so it makes sense he\u2019d be treated as a serious contender here. I still think there\u2019s plenty of value given his recent play.<\/p>\n The Banker: Cameron Young\u00a0<\/p>\n 18\/1 e\/w (Bet365 3 Places 1\/5 Odds)<\/p>\n Cameron Young has been threatening this level of breakthrough for a couple of years, but right now he\u2019s legitimately a top-3 player in the world, and the margins to between him proving himself as the best are thin.<\/p>\n The consistency of Scottie Scheffler is so hard to ignore and he\u2019s still the man who\u2019s won seven times since the start of 2025, including two majors, so he\u2019s hard to dethrone right now. Then you have the small matter of Rory McIlroy who has just defended his Masters title. A tough feat.<\/p>\n Otherwise, though, it\u2019s Young who\u2019s on top of the world, having won The Players and the Cadillac Championship this year, not long after breaking through at last year\u2019s Wyndham Championship. Now, other players have won multiple titles, with Matt Fitzpatrick (3) and Chris Gotterup (2) enjoying fantastic seasons as well, but it was Young that had the chance to extend his good form with a win at Augusta.<\/p>\n It wasn\u2019t to be, but it was further evidence that he\u2019s very likely to win one at some point, and this season looks perfect for him. The fact, then, that Aronimink is in the north-east, and is designed by Donald Ross, the same designer responsible for Sedgefield, the scene for his first win, must give him a boost.<\/p>\n Many expected it to be Young who would lift the trophy at Quail Hollow, and if that was the case he\u2019d have to be winning a third event in a row to lift the Wanamaker Trophy. And while neither that, or the fact he finished a disappointing T9, would have bothered me enough to leave him off, there are some out there that simply wouldn\u2019t bet on someone winning a third straight event, based on the law of averages.<\/p>\n I, though, remain confident he will win a major this year. Despite his slow Sunday, Young still ended up ranking 4th for SG Tee to Green at Quail Hollow, and that\u2019s the seventh time in a row he\u2019s ranked inside the top-8 for that particular metric, a clear display of his dominant form right now.<\/p>\n Aside from a poor (by his standards) week at the Heritage, Young has been on a heater for months now, finishing 7th, 3rd, 1st, 3rd, 25th, 1st, 10th in his last seven events, and given the 25th came a week after heartache at Augusta, I am willing to overlook that.\u00a0<\/p>\n In his current form then, 10th looks like a comfortable floor for him, and as someone who finished 3rd in his first PGA Championship start and now owns a top 4 finish in all four majors, I trust him to get the job done here.<\/p>\n Scheffler will win again soon, and after finishing 2nd three times in a row, the motivation will never be higher, but at more than double the price I think Young is worth backing over him. McIlroy splits the difference, and I am ok leaving him at the odds, as he looks for leg two of the calendar year Grand Slam<\/a>.<\/p>\n I will take him at 18\/1 in the three-place market with bet365 as I think that price is generous enough and worth sacrificing the extra places.<\/p>\n The Next Best: Matt Fizpatrick <\/p>\n 18\/1 e\/w (Bet365 10 Places 15 Odds)<\/p>\n Such is the excellence of his brother, Alex, who has taken to his new life on the PGA Tour like a duck to water, Matt now has his work cut out just to win \u2018Low Fitzpatrick\u2019 but that might just serve as a little extra motivation as he plays at Aronimink for the first time.<\/p>\n Matt Fitzpatrick is vying with Young as the third-best player in the world right now, and given he has beaten both Rory McIroy and Scottie Scheffler in a playoff in two of his more recent wins, we know he is made of the right stuff to win this tournament.<\/p>\n Add in the fact he\u2019s already a major champion, and seems to be meeting every challenge thrown at him this season with flying colours, and you have what I think is England\u2019s best hope of a major champion this year.<\/p>\n![\"Matt](\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/0-matt-mccarty.jpg\")
