Prison Break<\/a>, the critically acclaimed crime drama led by Wentworth Miller<\/a>, is slated to leave Netflix<\/a> in September. <\/p>\n

The show, which first premiered on FOX in 2005, spawned five seasons<\/a> and a 2009 television movie titled Prison Break: The Final Break. Paul Scheuring, who is credited with writing The Experiment (2010), Zero Hour and Den of Thieves (2018), is billed as the franchise’s creator. <\/p>\n

With the exception of the spin-off film, all 90 episodes of the show are currently available to stream on Netflix for the next few weeks. Wednesday, 3 September, is listed as the last day to tune in. <\/p>\n

Introducing fans to Michael Scofield (Miller), a structural engineer with an incredibly high IQ, season one follows the modern-day genius as he deliberately imprisons himself at Fox River State Penitentiary to break out his brother, Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell<\/a>), who is due to be executed. <\/p>\n

With Lincoln framed for the murder of Terrence Steadman, the brother of the vice president of the United States, Michael becomes determined to help him escape and prove his brother’s innocence. <\/p>\n

Season one, which currently holds a Certified Fresh rating of 78% on Rotten Tomatoes<\/a>, boasts a stellar cast. Joining Miller and Purcell, Amaury Nolasco<\/a>, Robert Knepper and Peter Stormare appear as fellow inmates at Fox River. <\/p>\n

Following the show’s debut in 2005, critics lauded the series for its originality. <\/p>\n

“The best thing about Prison Break is that we’ve never seen anything like it before. Sure, the sadistic and quirky criminals are more than a little familiar, but the plot is completely new,” raved Salon<\/a>. <\/p>\n

All five seasons of Prison Break are currently available to stream on Netflix. <\/p>\n
