\n\tRachel Corp<\/a>, the chief executive of storied British news producer ITN<\/a>, is stepping down with immediate effect after nearly four years.<\/p>\n

\n\tCorp, whose exit has shocked colleagues, will be replaced by Ian Rumsey<\/a>, the boss of ITN Productions. It means Rumsey is U-turning on his decision \u2014 announced just last month \u2014 to join rival producer Zinc Media Group. <\/p>\n

\n\tCorp will remain in the ITN building until May 22, but Rumsey will step into the CEO role without delay. Corp said she had decided after a \u201cgreat deal of reflection\u201d to \u201cpursue new opportunities.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tShe has been linked to the BBC News CEO role in recent weeks following the exit of Deborah Turness last year amid the scandal over Panorama\u2019s botched Donald Trump edit. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cITN has been a huge part of my life and career for more than three decades, and it has been a privilege to work alongside so many talented colleagues,\u201d Corp said. \u201cI am incredibly proud to have led ITN during such a critical period for public service journalism and trusted content in a rapidly changing industry.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tITN produces ITV and Channel 4\u2019s news output, as well as Good Morning Britain \u2014 which the company recently inherited from ITV Studios \u2014 and 5 News, for the Paramount-owned network.<\/p>\n

\n\tRumsey has run ITN\u2019s production arm since 2021, producing factual output, including Netflix\u2019s The Investigation of Lucy Letby and the Manhunt series.<\/p>\n

\n\tRumsey said: \u201cITN is a remarkable organisation, full of outstanding people, world-class journalism and storytelling \u2014 but, most of all, a unique attitude and spirit. Like all media businesses, we face real challenges, but we also have huge opportunities and enormous potential ahead of us.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tKyla Mullins, ITN\u2019s chair, did not comment on Corp\u2019s tenure as CEO, but praised Rumsey as an \u201coutstanding editorial and executive leader.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tShe added: \u201cITN remains one of the most respected and trusted news organisations in the UK and internationally, as well as a prolific content powerhouse at home and globally. While the wider media environment continues to evolve rapidly, we are confident in ITN\u2019s future, the strength of our journalism and production teams, and the opportunities ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe change in CEO comes at a time of uncertainty for ITN\u2019s biggest customer, ITV. The British network is in talks to sell to Sky, raising questions about how the Comcast-owned broadcaster will organize its news units, including rolling network Sky News.
