Liverpool are back in action on Friday night with the Premier League<\/a> trip to Aston Villa. And the Reds are still waiting to discover exactly who they can call upon for the game against a team they can effectively ensure they finish above with victory.<\/p>\n

Florian Wirtz became Liverpool’s<\/a> latest absentee when he sat out Saturday’s 1-1 draw at home to Chelsea with a stomach infection which Arne Slot<\/a> is hopeful will result in only a brief spell on the sidelines.<\/p>\n

The big question for the Reds is whether Alisson Becker is able to return having missed the last nine games with a hamstring problem. Giorgi Mamardashvili is on standby to again deputise between the sticks having returned last weekend following a nasty wound.<\/p>\n

Mohamed Salah is another player on whom the Reds are waiting after missing two matches with a minor hamstring issue. Liverpool boss Slot is expected to reveal more when he addresses the media on Thursday morning ahead of the game.<\/p>\n

Both Ibrahima Konate and teenage winger Rio Ngumoha limped out of the game against Chelsea, although Slot later explained both players had said they were just suffering from cramp.<\/p>\n

Hugo Ekitike faces a long period of rehabilitation after undergoing surgery last month on the Achilles tendon rupture suffered against Paris Saint-Germain.<\/p>\n

Conor Bradley is out for the season after a knee operation in January, while teenage centre-back Giovanni Leoni is also missing until the summer following ACL surgery in September.<\/p>\n

Wataru Endo, meanwhile, is continuing to recover from an ankle operation he underwent in February and is edging nearer a return to full training. Youngsters Stefan Bajcetic and Jayden Danns haven’t featured in the Premier League this season and are unlikely to do so.<\/p>\n

For Aston Villa, Boubacar Kamara is out for the campaign while Amadou Onana and Alysson are not expected to be available.
