Situated 44\u00a0km east of Stonehaven, the Bowdun fixed-bottom offshore wind park will connect to the grid in Aberdeenshire.<\/p>\n<p>The submission represents that the project has now submitted for evaluation both its onshore and offshore elements, since the partners had sent its application for the onshore elements to the Aberdeenshire Council in November 2025. The project is expected to be constructed within a five-year period, and once operational it is expected to generate enough electricity to power more than 1.2 million households.<\/p>\n<p>The UK aims to reach up to 50\u00a0GW of installed offshore wind capacity by 2030.
