The Los Angeles-based band&#8217;s complaint, which was filed on Monday, May 11th and seen by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/pro\/fka-twigs-countersued-trademark-lawsuit-indie-band-twigs\/\" data-tracking-id=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/pro\/fka-twigs-countersued-trademark-lawsuit-indie-band-twigs\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"Link__AnchorWrapper-sc-1huefnz-1 iVHMrM\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Billboard<\/a>, alleges that Barnett used her greater fame and wealth to &#8220;weaken, if not destroy&#8221; The Twigs&#8217; intellectual property.<\/p>\n<p>Barnett&#8217;s lawsuit, meanwhile, seeks to gain complete control over the FKA twigs trademark via jury trial. It makes the case for zero likelihood of confusion between the two acts. The action follows years of cease-and-desist letters and legal threats from The Twigs, including a 2014 lawsuit that resulted in Barnett adopting the &#8220;FKA&#8221; prefix.
