David Gray is delighted Hibs have their Premiership destiny in their own hands after beating Rangers at Ibrox.<\/p>\n
The Easter Road gaffer heaped praise on his side for taking their fight for fourth to the last day of the season.<\/p>\n
A win for the Hibees over Motherwell on Saturday will see them leapfrog The Steelmen in the table and guarantee European football next term.<\/p>\n
Gray\u2019s side clinched a last-gasp win in Govan thanks to Dane Scarlett\u2019s injury-time tap-in.<\/p>\n
Martin Boyle put them in front early but the visitors were pegged back by Thelo Aasgaard\u2019s free-kick for Gers.<\/p>\n
But the on-loan Spurs kid – who had come off the bench – made himself a Hibs hero at the end by grabbing a winner.<\/p>\n
And it sets up a mouth-watering clash in Leith at the weekend against Jens Berthel Askou\u2019s side, who lost at the death to Celtic at Fir Park.<\/p>\n
Afterwards, Gray said: \u201cBefore the game, we spoke about making sure the only scenario for us to take it to the last day was to win here.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe knew that and I\u2019m delighted for the players because of what they put in.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019ve stuck together over a difficult period and that\u2019s back-to-back wins now at two very tough places to go.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt sets us up nicely for the weekend.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe rode our luck at times and relied massively on our goalkeeper (Raphael Sallinger) to make big saves.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut the players found a way to stay in the game through difficult moments and we were clinical when we needed to be.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe had to win so we threw caution to the wind in the last 15 minutes.<\/p>\n
