\n Although entirely fictional, the novella is rooted in the humour, warmth, and quirks of small-town life.\n<\/p>\n
\n Martin said: “The characters are imaginary, although some were inspired by actual people.\n<\/p>\n
\n “The events are purely fictional.\n<\/p>\n
\n “The ultimate theme is redemption \u2013 how people can change for the better, forgive others, and redeem themselves.”\n<\/p>\n
\n Launching the book at Jean\u2019s Bothy holds personal significance for Martin.\n<\/p>\n
\n He said: “I\u2019m delighted to be launching my wee book at Jean\u2019s Bothy as I am diagnosed with bipolar disorder, as was my late mother.\n<\/p>\n
\n “There is, I hope, an inspiring mental health storyline running the length of the book.”\n<\/p>\n
\n The cover also carries a story.\n<\/p>\n
\n He said: “I got permission from the Science Museum in London to adapt a 1941 LNER poster by Frank H.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Mason showing the town from the Clyde.\n<\/p>\n
\n “It\u2019s very recognisable, but not quite real \u2013 just like the book.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
