Hollywood actress Alicia Silverstone has shared a heartfelt message to Liverpool after spending time in the city for Comic Con Liverpool. The biannual event returned to Liverpool’s Exhibition Centre from Saturday, May 2 to Sunday, May 3 as a number of stars met fans.<\/p>\n

Alicia, who played the role of Cher Horowitz in the 1996 classic Clueless, met with fans on both Saturday and Sunday<\/a> at the exhibition centre which took place at M&S Bank Arena. During her stay in Liverpool, the 49-year-old actress was able to enjoy a taste of Liverpool life – including a visit to after-hours LGBT+ bar Heaven, before a stroll around Sefton<\/a> Park.<\/p>\n

Also famed for starring in movies <\/a>such as The Crush, Batman & Robin and Excess Baggage, Alicia is among the most famous faces in the film industry. This didn’t stop her from exploring the city as much as she could before leaving.<\/p>\n

On Instagram Alicia shared a series of pictures from posing in front of the famous waterfront Beatles statue to shopping on Lark Lane. She said: “I love Liverpool.<\/p>\n

“What a treat to catch up with my dear pal Oliver James Broughton in this super cool city last week. Maray at the docks was so yum\u2026 such a vibe. The team was effortlessly arty and comfy in their skin.<\/p>\n

“Then The Glue\u2026 the moustache men behind it all were very cool. Quick natural wine and bites at Nord, then Heaven\u2026 supposedly a gay bar, but I’m pretty sure we were the gayest ones there.”<\/p>\n

Sharing her plans from the following day, Alicia added: “My first traditional roast, veggie of course, at Belzan. Carrots, parsnips, potatoes\u2026 all so good. I don’t even usually like parsnips!<\/p>\n

“Wandered Lark Lane, Sefton Park<\/a>, past the cathedral and down Bold Street\u2026 then back to Ireland for #IrishBlood Season 2. It’s the Liverpudlians\u2026 grounded, stylish, quietly cool and kind.”<\/p>\n

Fans couldn’t believe how much Alicia had embraced Liverpool on her short trip. One comment said: “Sorry, you mean to tell me our girl, our queen, Cher was just two miles down the road at the Royal Albert Dock<\/a>, casual class of wine and a stroll to the Pier Head, and we missed you!”<\/p>\n

Other comments said: “It’s great to see you out and about enjoying your time in Liverpool and I hope you can visit again in the future” and “An incredible array of Liverpool haunts! You really are the perpetual cool girl so of course you loved our city.”<\/p>\n

Further replies were: “I bet you were a hit with the Scousers” and “Such a fan!
