Sony and Marvel have today revealed just a little bit more of Spider-Man: Brand New Day<\/a>, with just over two months left to go until the movie’s arrival in theaters. <\/p>\n

First off, there’s a new poster \u2014 providing our best (and certainly our most close-up) look at Peter Parker’s suit in the film. It’s a simple but striking poster design, with the bottom half of Tom Holland’s face visible as his superhero attire takes up most of the image. <\/p>\n

Next up is a behind the scenes video featuring quick quotes from Holland and director Destin Daniel Cretton, as we see more of the practical effects work previously glimpsed last year, when the movie began shooting in Edinburgh, Scotland. <\/p>\n

Intriguingly, Cretton refers to this as the film’s “opening action sequence”, suggesting it’ll come early in the film. If you remember, filming kicked off with Holland (and his stunt double) riding atop a tank down an Edinburgh street dressed up to look like New York. Still, the sequence won’t be the first thing viewers see \u2014 as Sony has already released the movie’s opening script pages<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“After the record-breaking global success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Spider-Man: Brand New Day marks an entirely new chapter for Peter Parker and Spider-Man,” reads today’s blurb for the movie. <\/p>\n

“Four years have passed since the events of No Way Home, and Peter is now an adult living entirely alone, having voluntarily erased himself from the lives and memories of those he loves. Crime-fighting in a New York that no longer knows his name, he’s devoted himself entirely to protecting his city \u2014 a full-time Spider-Man \u2014 but as the demands on him intensify, the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced.”<\/p>\n

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is due to launch on July 31, and set to star Holland, Zendaya as MJ, Sadie Sink (in an undisclosed role that fans are now certain they’ve identified<\/a>), Jacob Batalon as Ned, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle\/The Punisher, Tramell Tillman as Department of Damage Control boss Bill Metzger, Michael Mando as Scorpion<\/a>, and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner (who looks like he’ll also be appearing as the Hulk<\/a>).<\/p>\n
