Huddersfield Giants earned their first home win of the Super League campaign, after seeing off Catalans Dragons 18-6 on Saturday evening.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Two tries and three goals from George Flanagan Jr<\/a> formed the majority of the points, with Jacob Gagai scoring from an intercept just before half time.\u00a0<\/p>\n Head coach Luke Robinson spoke to Sky Sports after the game, saying how proud he was of his side\u2019s effort and will to win.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cI generally felt like we controlled the game throughout,\u201d said the Giants boss. \u201cThey probably had a purple patch in the first five minutes, but I thought we played tough, we stuck in it, they kept coming at us.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cWhen you complete something like 96% in the first half and then 80-odd for the full game, you always give yourself a chance of winning. But I\u2019m just really proud of them in that first ten minutes because it would have been quite easy to fall into our shell, but we didn\u2019t we stayed strong and we were in control for the majority of the game.\u00a0<\/p>\n Robinson admitted that once again injuries halted their momentum, but they have now grown used to dealing with the adversity. He also shone praise on loan halfback Matt Frawley, admitting his experience and game management was crucial to the victory.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s not been an easy one once again. We got a really good result at Hull and once again we lose Tui Lolohea and Adam Swift, but I feel like we\u2019re just used to losing players now, one player in one player out. We had a new halfback partnership with Frawls and Kez [Matt Frawley and Kieran Rush] in the halves.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cEverybody knows the amount of halves partnerships we\u2019ve had this year, but at the beginning of the year, we didn\u2019t have anyone to control us really, we brought Frawls in to just give us that control, that experience and look he was great for us today.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n The Huddersfield Giants boss admitted he \u201cdreads playing at home\u201d after poor record<\/p>\n Now that Huddersfield finally have their first win at home, Robinson hopes that the curse has been lifted, and with three home matches remaining in 2025 can push on and earn some more points.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cLook, hopefully it\u2019s a monkey off our back. I\u2019m probably the only coach that dreads playing at home, normally everyone likes playing at home. Look, it\u2019s been no secret that our home form hasn\u2019t been great for about two years, \u00a0but hopefully now with that win\u2026\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cYou spoke about we have nothing to play for. Anybody that pulls on a Huddersfield Giants shirt and plays for me knows that everything\u2019s on the line every single game. We\u2019re going to hopefully play like that, first and foremost for the teammates, for the club, for Ken and for the fans in particular.
