{"id":584832,"date":"2026-05-15T04:19:13","date_gmt":"2026-05-15T04:19:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/584832\/"},"modified":"2026-05-15T04:19:13","modified_gmt":"2026-05-15T04:19:13","slug":"cycling-groups-to-host-event-at-queen-elizabeth-gardens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/584832\/","title":{"rendered":"Cycling groups to host event at Queen Elizabeth Gardens"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  The gathering will take place at Queen Elizabeth Gardens on Saturday, May 16.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The event will feature a variety of local cycling groups, including the Cycling Opportunities Group for Salisbury (COGS), Breeze Rides, Salisbury Road and Mountain Cycling Club, Charlotte&#8217;s Tandems, and Bikeability.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  COGS, known for its advocacy for improved cycling conditions in Salisbury, will be among those present.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Local volunteers will offer free bike safety checks, repairs, and gear adjustments.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img   width=\"100%\"\/>COGS member Paula Downard (Image: COGS)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Visitors can also try out Salisbury&#8217;s own pedal-powered Smoothie Bike to blend their own refreshments.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  From 12.30pm, there will be free bike security checks and advice on theft prevention, along with bike marking services to aid in the recovery of stolen bikes.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Rob Jacobs, Chair of COGS, commented on the event&#8217;s collaborative nature and its goal to promote cycling in Salisbury.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  He urged the public to attend for local cycling information, summer bike checks, smoothie-making, and bike marking.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The event will run from 10.30am to 4.30pm.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The gathering will take place at Queen Elizabeth Gardens on Saturday, May 16.
