target=\"_blank\">anxiety<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s according to new research from YouGov, on behalf of lifestyle hospitality brand <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesocialhub.co\/\" target=\"_blank\" role=\"link\" class=\" js-entry-link cet-external-link\" data-vars-item-name=\"The Social Hub,\" data-vars-item-type=\"text\" data-vars-unit-name=\"6893228ae4b07e7958a13b0e\" data-vars-unit-type=\"buzz_body\" data-vars-target-content-id=\"https:\/\/www.thesocialhub.co\/\" data-vars-target-content-type=\"url\" data-vars-type=\"web_external_link\" data-vars-subunit-name=\"article_body\" data-vars-subunit-type=\"component\" data-vars-position-in-subunit=\"3\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">The Social Hub,<\/a> which revealed almost one in five (19%) millennials work from home just to ensure they can fit workouts into their day.<\/p>\n<p>Around one in 10 of us will be living with an anxiety disorder at any one time, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/mentalhealth-uk.org\/help-and-information\/conditions\/anxiety-disorders\/what-is-anxiety\/\" target=\"_blank\" role=\"link\" class=\" js-entry-link cet-external-link\" data-vars-item-name=\"Mental Health UK, \" data-vars-item-type=\"text\" data-vars-unit-name=\"6893228ae4b07e7958a13b0e\" data-vars-unit-type=\"buzz_body\" data-vars-target-content-id=\"https:\/\/mentalhealth-uk.org\/help-and-information\/conditions\/anxiety-disorders\/what-is-anxiety\/\" data-vars-target-content-type=\"url\" data-vars-type=\"web_external_link\" data-vars-subunit-name=\"article_body\" data-vars-subunit-type=\"component\" data-vars-position-in-subunit=\"4\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Mental Health UK, <\/a>which equates to roughly eight million people. <\/p>\n<p>So, does exercise really help to alleviate anxiety?<\/p>\n<p>Studies have noted links between <a href=\"https:\/\/pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/articles\/PMC3632802\/\" target=\"_blank\" role=\"link\" class=\" js-entry-link cet-external-link\" data-vars-item-name=\"exercise and reduced anxiety levels\" data-vars-item-type=\"text\" data-vars-unit-name=\"6893228ae4b07e7958a13b0e\" data-vars-unit-type=\"buzz_body\" data-vars-target-content-id=\"https:\/\/pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/articles\/PMC3632802\/\" data-vars-target-content-type=\"url\" data-vars-type=\"web_external_link\" data-vars-subunit-name=\"article_body\" data-vars-subunit-type=\"component\" data-vars-position-in-subunit=\"5\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">exercise and reduced anxiety levels<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S0165032721010739\" target=\"_blank\" role=\"link\" class=\" js-entry-link cet-external-link\" data-vars-item-name=\"One study\" data-vars-item-type=\"text\" data-vars-unit-name=\"6893228ae4b07e7958a13b0e\" data-vars-unit-type=\"buzz_body\" data-vars-target-content-id=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S0165032721010739\" data-vars-target-content-type=\"url\" data-vars-type=\"web_external_link\" data-vars-subunit-name=\"article_body\" data-vars-subunit-type=\"component\" data-vars-position-in-subunit=\"6\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">One study<\/a> looked into whether a 12-week exercise intervention could reduce anxiety symptoms in those with anxiety disorders and found \u201clarge improvements\u201d in the groups that did exercise. <\/p>\n<p>John J Ratey, an associate clinical professor at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.health.harvard.edu\/blog\/can-exercise-help-treat-anxiety-2019102418096\" target=\"_blank\" role=\"link\" class=\" js-entry-link cet-external-link\" data-vars-item-name=\"Harvard Medical School, \" data-vars-item-type=\"text\" data-vars-unit-name=\"6893228ae4b07e7958a13b0e\" data-vars-unit-type=\"buzz_body\" data-vars-target-content-id=\"https:\/\/www.health.harvard.edu\/blog\/can-exercise-help-treat-anxiety-2019102418096\" data-vars-target-content-type=\"url\" data-vars-type=\"web_external_link\" data-vars-subunit-name=\"article_body\" data-vars-subunit-type=\"component\" data-vars-position-in-subunit=\"7\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Harvard Medical School, <\/a>said: \u201cAs a psychiatrist who studies the effects of exercise on the brain, I\u2019ve not only seen the science, I\u2019ve witnessed firsthand how physical activity affects my patients.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cResearch shows aerobic exercise is especially helpful.
