The 2025\/26 Premier League season reaches its penultimate weekend \u2013 and it could be a decisive one in the title race, the relegation battle and more.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Here\u2019s all you need to know about what could be confirmed in Matchweek 37, which runs from Friday to Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Arsenal could win the title<\/p>\n
A gripping Premier League title race could be won in the penultimate Matchweek of the season.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Manchester City<\/a> are still firmly in the race after their 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace<\/a> on Wednesday, but they still trail leaders Arsenal<\/a> by two points.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n As such, Arsenal can put themselves within touching distance of a first Premier League title in 22 years by beating Burnley<\/a> at Emirates Stadium on Monday night.<\/p>\n Three points for Mikel Arteta\u2019s Gunners would leave Pep Guardiola\u2019s Man City having to win at AFC Bournemouth<\/a> on Tuesday night to take the title race to the final day.<\/p>\n Anything less than three points for Man City and Arsenal would be crowned champions with a game to spare.\u00a0<\/p>\n Liverpool can still clinch Champions League qualification<\/p>\n Aston Villa<\/a> beat Liverpool<\/a> on Friday night to confirm their place in next season\u2019s UEFA Champions League. The Villans can no longer finish lower than fifth in the Premier League table, as Unai Emery’s side are seven points ahead of sixth-placed Bournemouth who only have six left to play for.<\/p>\n Liverpool could still also qualify for the Champions League in this Matchweek, as long as Bournemouth lose to Man City on Tuesday and Brighton & Hove Albion<\/a> fail to win at Leeds United<\/a> on Sunday.\u00a0<\/p>\n Villa could also earn a Champions League place by winning the UEFA Europa League final against Freiburg on Wednesday 20 May. If they do that AND finish fifth in the Premier League, the sixth-placed team will qualify for the Champions League.<\/p>\n Bournemouth and Brighton could seize European spots<\/p>\n Sixth in the table and unbeaten in 16 Premier League matches, Bournemouth are on track to enjoy the best campaign in their history \u2013 which could include European qualification for the first time.<\/p>\n The top seven clubs are set to qualify for Europe – the UEFA Conference League at the very least – and a home win over Man City on Tuesday would secure a top-seven finish for Bournemouth, regardless of other results.<\/p>\n Should Brighton fail to win away to Leeds on Sunday, Bournemouth would head into the Man City clash knowing three points would carry even greater rewards – a top-six finish which would mean qualification for the Europa League at least.<\/p>\n As we explained above, there is still a possibility that sixth place will earn a Champions League spot.<\/p>\n Brighton could also seal a European spot with the right set of results in Matchweek 37.<\/p>\n Fabian Hurzeler\u2019s men would secure a top-seven finish if they win at Leeds on Sunday and Brentford drop points against Crystal Palace at the same time.<\/p>\n Fernandes still has history in his sights<\/p>\n Sitting on 19 assists for the past two Matchweeks, Manchester United<\/a> captain Bruno Fernandes<\/a> will be hoping to make it third time lucky in his pursuit of Premier League history in Sunday’s home clash with Nottingham Forest<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n Fernandes is just one assist away from equalling the record for the most in a Premier League season (20) \u2013 shared by Thierry Henry<\/a> and Kevin De Bruyne<\/a>. \u00a0<\/p>\n The Portuguese hasn\u2019t set up a goal in either of his side\u2019s last two outings, but he\u2019s not gone three games without an assist since early October.\u00a0<\/p>\n Regardless, Fernandes is poised to win his first Premier League Playmaker of the Season award: he\u2019s seven assists ahead of his nearest challenger for that prize, Man City\u2019s Rayan Cherki<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n Spurs could secure Premier League status<\/p>\n Having climbed out of the relegation zone with victory over Villa in Matchweek 35, Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> could confirm their Premier League status in midweek.<\/p>\n Spurs don\u2019t play until Tuesday night, when they travel to London rivals Chelsea, so they will be keeping a close eye on West Ham United<\/a>\u2019s Sunday evening trip to Newcastle United<\/a>.<\/p>\n Anything but a West Ham win will leave Spurs able to secure their top-flight safety with a win at Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n If West Ham beat Newcastle, however, Spurs will be back in the bottom three by the time they face Chelsea and, regardless of how Roberto De Zerbi\u2019s side fare against the Blues, the battle to beat the drop will go to the final day. \u00a0<\/p>\n Brighton and Man Utd face off for Premier League 2 title<\/p>\n The 2025\/26 Premier League 2 campaign concludes this Saturday, with Brighton and Man Utd\u2019s Under-21 teams meeting in the playoff final at the Amex Stadium to decide this season\u2019s champions.<\/p>\n Brighton are looking to win the competition for the first time, while Man Utd are chasing their first title for 10 years.<\/p>\n The Seagulls have home advantage as the route to the final was pre-determined before
