A new documentary titled Di\u2019Anno \u2013 Iron Maiden\u2019s Lost Singer, focusing on late Iron Maiden<\/a> vocalist Paul Di\u2019Anno, will be released via digital VOD and on DVD\/Blu-Ray on June 9th via Cleopatra Entertainment, with a theatrical screening at the Lumiere Music Hall Theater in Beverly Hills that same day.<\/p>\n

The film has been screening in the UK since May 1st, with a US film festival appearance on May 13th at Sound Unseen Minneapoli, as well as an upcoming one on June 3rd at San Francisco Documentary Festival. The documentary covers two fans\u2019 discovery of Di\u2019Anno during a low point late in his life, as they helped him regain his health and relaunch his career. Paul Di\u2019Anno passed away in 2024<\/a> after a series of health issues,\u00a0only meeting his Iron Maiden replacement Bruce Dickinson<\/a> mere months before his passing. The Iron Maiden documentary features appearances by Metallica\u2019s James Hetfield, KISS\u2019 Gene Simmons, and Iron Maiden founder Steve Harris, as well as members of Exodus, Slayer, Megadeth, Overkill, and Sepultura.<\/p>\n

Director Wes Orchoski stated, \u201cPaul was waiting for surgeries that doctors in the UK would not greenlight. He was in an incredibly dark place. But once he got to Croatia, fans and doctors gave him the hope he was desperately searching for. It was beautiful to witness. I wanted to make a film that was unlike any rock doc you\u2019ve ever seen. And in the end, I think we got there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Orchoski\u2019s previous credit\u2019s include\u00a0Lemmy about Motorhead founder and frontman Lemmy Kilmister, and The Damned\u2019s Don\u2019t You Wish You Were Dead.<\/p>\n

Iron Maiden, meanwhile, will hit North America in the late summer for their \u201cRun For Your Lives Tour<\/a>\u201d\u00a0celebrating their first nine albums, including their self-titled debut and\u00a0Killers, both recorded with Di\u2019Anno as their singer. Pick up tickets here<\/a>.<\/p>\n
