\n The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is now taking action to protect users from Ranis Healthcare Limited, in Huntingdon, following an inspection that concluded in April.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
\n It comes after the CQC found six breaches of regulations relating to person-centred\u00a0care, safe care and treatment, safeguarding, governance, staffing and safe recruitment.\n<\/p>\n
\n There was no registered manager in post at the time of the inspection.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
\n The service provides personal care and support to adults of all ages, some of whom were living with dementia and\/or a physical disability.\n<\/p>\n
\n Inspectors found staff did not always provide consistent care, which left people feeling unsafe, and often arrived late, missed care calls or didn’t stay for the scheduled time.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
\n A report published the regulator found leaders did not always make sure staff supported people safely, or in a way that met their needs.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
\n Staff were also found to not manage medicines safely, nor treat users with kindness and compassion.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
\n Staff did, however, detect\u00a0and control the risk of infections spreading and used personal protective equipment appropriately.\n<\/p>\n
\n This was the CQC\u2019s first inspection of the firm and was carried out following concerns received about the management of the firm.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
\n As well as its overall rating, Ranis Healthcare Ltd was also\u00a0rated inadequate for safe, effective, responsive and well-led.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
\n Meanwhile, caring was rated as requiring improvement.\n<\/p>\n
\n The service has now been placed into special measures, which involves close monitoring to ensure users are safe while they make improvements.\n<\/p>\n
\n The CQC has also begun the process of taking regulatory action to address the concerns which Ranis Healthcare Limited has the right to appeal.\n<\/p>\n
\n Ranis Healthcare Limited did not respond to The Hunts Post\u2019s requests for comment.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
