An ‘iconic’ pub is gearing up to reopen after being closed for four years. Brookhouse Mill in Denbigh<\/a> shut in 2022 following the tragic deaths of its owners in quick succession.<\/a><\/p>\n

The site was placed up for sale by the Hall family, who had owned the location for 43 years. It was bought in 2024 by local pub group Stange & Co in 2024, whose portfolio includes The Cottage Loaf in Llandudno<\/a> and The Erskine Arms in Conwy<\/a>,<\/p>\n

A latest update on the Brookhouse Mill Facebook<\/a> page said: “What a week! Here are a few snaps of the team who have all been hard at work getting our lovely pub ready to open and what a fantastic job they’ve done.<\/p>\n

“We can’t wait for you all to visit, we’ve got a cracking pub and an even better team who are looking forward to welcoming you… Cheers everyone.” Sign up for the North Wales Live newsletter<\/a> sent twice daily to your inbox<\/p>\n

In January this year, North Wales Live reported how they had announced plans to create 35 jobs<\/a> and add a sun terrace and new garden room after securing a substantial funding injection of \u00a3850k from NatWest to support its latest investment.<\/p>\n

Work on the redevelopment started last year with a major revamp taking place and the aim was to get the pub open in spring, but there was no set date.<\/p>\n

The pub, on the busy A525, was once an 18th-century water mill that drew its water from the Afon Ystrad.<\/p>\n

Speaking previously, Stange & Co said: “The pub has all the attributes to be a cracker and we\u2019re sure after a little work to get it back open, it will become a pub we and Denbigh can be proud of once again.”<\/p>\n
