It\u2019s been a big week for Andy Murray<\/a>. It has emerged that the retired three-time Grand Slam champion will be part of Jack Draper<\/a>\u2019s coaching team for the upcoming grass season<\/a> \u2013 which includes Wimbledon. And the former world No. 1 has now been named as one of the UK\u2019s wealthiest sportspeople.<\/p>\n Since retiring from professional tennis at the 2024 Olympic Games, Murray has been busy playing a lot of golf \u2013 and working on his investment portfolio. The 39-year-old has invested in Manors Golf<\/a>, a golf apparel brand, and shoemaker hylo.<\/a><\/p>\n Murray has also partnered with brands like Albert Bartlett and Walker\u2019s Shortbread. Along with his dog, Bonnie, he has also appeared in adverts for Purina PRO PLAN. And his off-court endeavours are paying off.<\/p>\n According to The Sunday Times Rich List<\/a>, Murray\u2019s estimated wealth for 2026 sits at \u00a3110million, making him the joint-10th wealthiest sportsperson in the UK, along with Harry Kane<\/a>. Bernie Ecclestone<\/a> and his family topped the sportsperson list, with a reported wealth of \u00a32billion. And Rory McIlroy is the UK\u2019s richest sportsperson under the age of 40, with an estimated wealth of \u00a3325m.<\/p>\n While Murray has been busy building brand partnerships and investments, he will soon be back on the tennis tour, supporting British ace Draper during the grass season. The two-time Wimbledon<\/a> champion previously spent six months coaching his biggest rival, Novak Djokovic<\/a>. That partnership ended last May.<\/p>\n Murray hadn\u2019t planned to return to tennis in a new role so soon after his retirement \u2013 he joined Djokovic\u2019s team at the end of 2024 \u2013 but couldn\u2019t pass up the opportunity to learn from the sport\u2019s greatest champion, and one of his old foes.<\/p>\n Andy Murray will support Jack Draper during the grass season (Image: Getty)<\/p>\n Now, the two-time Olympic gold medallist will assist Draper, after the former world No. 4 parted ways with his coach, Jamie Delgado, who had also previously coached Murray.<\/p>\n \u201cI am very grateful for everything Jamie Delgado has done for me over these past six months. He is a world-class coach and a great man,\u201d Draper said in a statement earlier this week. \u201cIn the interim, I will continue to be supported by the excellent team at the LTA, with the addition of Andy Murray<\/a>, who will be supporting me throughout the grass court season.\u201d<\/p>\n Draper started 2025 on a high when he won Indian Wells, reached two other finals, and cracked the world\u2019s top five. But an arm injury derailed his season, and he shut things down after the US Open in August.<\/p>\n The 24-year-old hired Delgado in October, but they worked together in only four tournaments this season, as Draper made his comeback in February but skipped some events. Draper, who now sits at No. 50 in the world, picked up a knee injury in Barcelona last month and has since ruled himself out of the clay swing,<\/a> but will return on the grass with Murray in tow.<\/p>\n EXPRESS SPORT ON FB!
