\n Emergency services were called to Kings’ School, in Romsey Road, on Thursday, May 14, following a medical incident involving a member of staff.\n<\/p>\n
\n A police spokesperson said: “We were called at 9.54am on Thursday, May 14, by ambulance colleagues to a report of a medical incident at King\u2019s School in Romsey Road, Winchester.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Sadly, a woman in her 40s was pronounced dead at the scene. Her next-of-kin have been made aware.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Officers attended. The death is not being treated as suspicious, and a file is being prepared for the coroner.”\n<\/p>\n
\n Flowers, cards and tributes have been left outside the school gates. The teacher has been named as Mrs Bamford.\n<\/p>\n
\n A sign says: “We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for all the wonderful tributes that have been left, they have meant a great deal to all of us. We will be moving all of them to an area of reflection and remembrance inside the school grounds on Monday morning.”\n<\/p>\n

\n As previously reported, Kings’ School closed early on Thursday following the incident after briefly entering a “lockdown procedure”, with children being sent home.\n<\/p>\n
\n In an email to parents at the time, the school said: “Due to an ongoing situation in school today related to an urgent medical situation, involving a member of staff, we have taken the decision to close the school early.\n<\/p>\n
\n “All pupils are safe and remain supervised. We are now beginning a controlled dismissal process.\n<\/p>\n
\n “All year 11 exams will remain as scheduled. We anticipate minimal disruptions, but we will keep you updated.”\n<\/p>\n
\n The school was closed again on Friday, May 15.\n<\/p>\n
\n The incident was attended by police, ambulance crews and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.\n<\/p>\n
