{"id":590214,"date":"2026-05-18T08:01:18","date_gmt":"2026-05-18T08:01:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/590214\/"},"modified":"2026-05-18T08:01:18","modified_gmt":"2026-05-18T08:01:18","slug":"six-of-the-best-compete-to-become-2026-home-of-the-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/590214\/","title":{"rendered":"Six of the best compete to become 2026 Home of the Year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The judges&#8217; winner from the South was Granny&#8217;s House, near Gatehouse of Fleet. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The granny in question asked her grandson and his partner Vicki if they would live in the house, before she died aged 101.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The renovation of this special house has been a labour of love for the couple and they have created a stunning home for their three sons Freddie, Alfie and Robbie, Hettie the cockapoo and a pony called Bramble. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The homeowners inherited Granny&#8217;s House and the adjoining farmland, which has been in Duncan&#8217;s family for generations. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">They have extended it to create a large living space, a wrap-around extension and  fun features like a swimming pond for their three sons to enjoy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The judges&#8217; winner from the South was Granny&#8217;s House, near Gatehouse of Fleet.
