New posts from Weibo leaker Instant Digital offer the latest updates on iPhone Ultra\u2019s production status, release timing, crease-free display breakthrough\u2014and a potential hurdle.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the latest on Apple\u2019s foldable iPhone Ultra model, per leaks<\/p>\n

Over the weekend, several posts from Weibo leaker Instant Digital<\/a> provide insights into Apple\u2019s current progress with the forthcoming iPhone Ultra.<\/p>\n

Apple\u2019s first foldable iPhone is reportedly in trial production now. And that has come with both good news and bad news for the company.<\/p>\n

Per this post<\/a>, Apple\u2019s goal of a crease-free display for the iPhone Ultra has been achieved, a key breakthrough. Per the translated post: \u201ccurrent test results do show that it has achieved a visually crease-free state with \u2018long-term stability.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

However, the iPhone Ultra\u2019s hinge is apparently struggling to hit Apple\u2019s quality standards.<\/p>\n

Per the post: \u201cits reliability after prolonged, high-frequency opening and closing consistently falls short of Apple\u2019s quality control standards.\u201d<\/p>\n

The leaker says this issue is causing an indefinite delay to the production process. A later post<\/a> affirms that production has been hindered as a result.<\/p>\n

What does this mean for iPhone Ultra\u2019s release timing? Fortunately, in a follow-up the leaker reiterates his belief that the new model is still very much on track<\/a> for a September debut.<\/p>\n

Assuming Apple is able to find a satisfactory fix to the hinge\u2019s reliability problem, there should still be plenty of time for mass production to ramp up on schedule ahead of the fall launch.<\/p>\n
