Alton Towers<\/a>\u00a0has been evacuated after a ‘small’ but ‘contained’ fire broke out inside a toilet facility in the Forbidden Valley.<\/p>\n

Reports of a fire as well as an evacuation of the popular Staffordshire theme park first emerged as guests took to social media.\u00a0<\/p>\n

One picture of a queue of customers at the Staffordshire attraction was captioned: ‘Alton Towers evacuating due to fire.’\u00a0<\/p>\n

Another video showed attendees being instructed to leave the Forbidden Valley area of the restort<\/p>\n

One visitor took to X saying: ‘Never had a whole area of Alton Towers evacuated before! I’m confused as hell. I hope nothing too serious has happened.’\u00a0<\/p>\n

Others have complained saying the incident has sparked traffic chaos, with one visitor claiming the car park entrance has been closed.\u00a0<\/p>\n

They wrote: ‘We now can’t even leave the park through the car park entrance we want to despite walking 25minutes with two OAPs towards the Forbidden Valley.<\/p>\n

‘No communication with customers, nobody blocking off routes. Shambles.’<\/p>\n

Alton Towers has been evacuated after reports have emerged that a fire has broken out at the Staffordshire Theme Park<\/p>\n

Alton Towers have since confirmed there was a ‘small’ and ‘contained’ fire in the Forbidden Valley area of the park<\/p>\n

An Alton Towers spokesperson has since confirmed a ‘small’ fire broke out in a block of toilets earlier today.<\/p>\n

They said: ‘Earlier today, a small, contained fire was discovered by a colleague in a toilet facility within the Forbidden Valley area of the Resort.<\/p>\n

‘Our team quickly put out the fire, and as a precaution, we temporarily evacuated the area while we established the cause.<\/p>\n

‘We’d like to thank our guests for their cooperation. The safety and wellbeing of our guests and team members is always out top priority.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It is understood the area was closed for an hour as a precaution. The impacted toilet was not in use at the time of the incident.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Daily Mail has approached Staffordshire Fire and Rescue for comment.\u00a0<\/p>\n
