An Edinburgh man has tragically died after an alleged assault in South Queensferry.<\/p>\n
The incident took place around 6.10am on Friday, May 22 on Morison Gardens. Emergency services attended but the 54-year-old man died at the scene.<\/p>\n
Officers are treating the death as suspicious and a postmortem examination will be carried out in due course. A 58-year-old man has been arrested and inquiries are ongoing.<\/p>\n
The entire road has been cordoned off<\/a> with police tape, with a partial closure of Stewart Terrace, as officers conduct inquiries.<\/p>\n Officers in white hazmat suits can be seen in the area while uniformed officers patrol the entryways.<\/p>\n Morison Gardens has been shut down by forensics teams(Image: Callum Moffat)<\/p>\n An eye witness said: “\u201cThe whole street is crawling with police. I\u2019ve seen loads of plain clothes officers canvassing and more and more forensics keep turning up, I\u2019ve seen at least half a dozen of them! I don\u2019t know what\u2019s happened but it seems quite big.”<\/p>\n Another told Edinburgh Live: “My daughter-in-law phoned me from up the road and asked what was happening in my street. I said \u2018what\u2019s happening in my street!\u2019 I didn\u2019t even notice. That was about 7 o’ clock this morning.<\/p>\n “It\u2019s very very unusual.
