Since its debut at the Las Vegas tech convention in January, upgrades have also been made to the accessory.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"u-speakableText-p2\">Screenless trackers strip away displays to create less clutter &#8212; both digitally and physically &#8212; making them ideal for those who don&#8217;t want to compulsively check their wrist for statistics or messages.<\/p>\n<p>The band, created by the same company that developed the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnet.com\/health\/medical\/luna-ring-first-smart-ring-talk-health\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" class=\"c-shortcodeLink c-shortcodeLink-active\" target=\"_blank\">Luna Smart Ring<\/a>, can track a multitude of health metrics through its growing library of &#8220;micro-apps,&#8221; including stress, nutrition, training, supplements, productivity and more. According to the company, each micro-app runs in the background, using the user&#8217;s health data, blood markers and more. There is also a companion app for the band called\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/sa\/app\/luna-ring-and-band-lifeos-ai\/id6456215977\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"(opens in a new window)\" class=\"c-regularLink\">Luna: LifeOS AI<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The most noteworthy feature, though, may be that this is a subscription-free tracker, unlike some other health trackers like the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnet.com\/health\/fitness\/whoop-5-0-review\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" class=\"c-shortcodeLink c-shortcodeLink-active\" target=\"_blank\">Whoop 5.0<\/a> or\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnet.com\/health\/oura-ring-womens-health-hormonal-features\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" class=\"c-shortcodeLink c-shortcodeLink-active\" target=\"_blank\">Oura Ring<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Is the Luna Band the first screenless fitness tracker?<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnet.com\/tech\/mobile\/fitbit-air-google-coach-fitness-tracker-band-first-impressions\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" class=\"c-shortcodeLink c-shortcodeLink-active\" target=\"_blank\">Fitbit Air<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/cc.cnet.com\/v1\/otc\/04Yxjj1rHOmYAxbnVDhvKNn?merchant=05kie42h3YvHwjr4G1w80Qq&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FPOLAR-Loop-Screen-Free-Automatic-Subscription%2Fdp%2FB0FM8LD1D3&amp;app_deeplink=1\" rel=\"noopener nofollow sponsored\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"(opens in a new window)\" data-aps-asc-tag=\"cnet-buy-button-20\" data-aps-asc-subtag=\"__COM_CLICK_ID__|-|dtp|cn\" data-location=\"BODY\">The Loop by Polar<\/a> are also screenless health trackers, but Luna founder Amit Khatri said that the difference between the Luna Band and other trackers lies in how they operate.
