What Jordan Spieth wasn\u2019t happy about at the CJ CUP despite shooting 62<\/p>\n
Spieth addressed the media after his superb round of 62 on Friday at TPC Craig Ranch.<\/p>\n
And he responded when asked to deliver his verdict on where his game is at right now.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s physically and my mechanics. I got pretty off for a long time. I\u2019ve been trying to build it back, and then I\u2019d compensate and do what worked,\u201c Spieth said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis last off-season I said no more compensating because, to be consistent, I\u2019ve got to get it back to a certain place, and it\u2019s been work from then to try to get there. It\u2019s all in mechanics and health.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just nice to \u2014 it\u2019s nice to capitalize, right? Play the hole, and you\u2019ve got a wedge in your hand, you\u2019ve got a shot that you see, and you\u2019re kind of thinking, I should make birdie here. It\u2019s just nice to do it, right?<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was putting today. I\u2019ve been driving the ball the best of my life, and my driving was horrible today, like really bad. But putting was \u2014 to go to your actual question, putting was the best.<\/p>\n
\u201cI felt fluid with it. I felt like I \u2014 in what I\u2019ve been trying to do, I\u2019ve been trying to put it all together. I know what needs to happen, but putting it all together into a fluid stroke and then being able to be outwardly focused has been the goal.<\/p>\n

\u201cI felt like last night I did a really good job out here of that being the goal, find that, and then carry it into this morning and then trust it on the course.<\/p>\n
\u201cFrankly, I mean, I told Michael \u2014 I\u2019ve been telling Michael for a while. I just feel like one lips in instead of lips out, and I feel like the lid comes off. I lipped out a few yesterday. I had one on No. 10 go across the lip today, but then the one on No. 1 could have been short and fell in. It was like, oh, wow, there is a hole there.<\/p>\n
\u201cSometimes I\u2019ve certainly shown that I can get streaky with it and was able to kind of get on the right side of that today.\u201c<\/p>\n

Jordan Spieth\u2019s stats on day two of the CJ CUP Byron Nelson<\/p>\n
Spieth enjoyed an exceptional day on the greens and ranked first in strokes gained putting on Friday, gaining nearly four strokes on the field.<\/p>\n
His short game was in fine fettle as well, and he ranked third in strokes gained around the green.<\/p>\n
His long game wasn\u2019t as good as it could have been.<\/p>\n
Spieth ranked 46th in strokes gained off the tee and 17th in strokes gained approach on day two of the CJ Cup Byron Nelson.<\/p>\n

Overall, Spieth gained just over 6.2 strokes on the entire field during his second round 62.<\/p>\n
