A Welsh health board has announced immediate temporary ward closures at three of their hospitals due to a surge in norovirus cases. Hywel Dda University Health Board said essential visiting would only be allowed in exceptional circumstances due to norovirus circulating in wards and the community.<\/p>\n
On Friday afternoon, May 22, the health board said they were closing wards at Prince Philip Hospital, Bronglais Hospital and Withybush Hospital. They said the restrictions would be in place from Friday until further notice, with the situation being monitored regularly.<\/p>\n
The health board urged any essential visitors to only visit the hospitals if they are well. We are asking visitors to only attend sites if they are well.<\/p>\n “The decision to temporarily close the wards to all but essential visitors has been taken due to cases of norovirus circulating in wards at hospital sites and in the community.<\/p>\n “Some essential visiting will be allowed in exceptional circumstances.
