Born in London, Tom Burke<\/a>, 44, trained at Rada. In 2008, he won the Ian Charleson award for his role in Creditors at London\u2019s Donmar Warehouse. From 2014 to 2016, he appeared in the BBC series The Musketeers; his other TV work includes War & Peace and Strike, in\u00a0which he plays the title role. His best-known films\u00a0are Mank, The Souvenir, The Wonder and Furiosa: A\u00a0Mad Max Saga.\u00a0His new\u00a0Netflix series is Legends. He\u00a0lives in Kent.<\/p>\n

What is your greatest fear?
To be stuck in the past.<\/p>\n

What is the trait you most deplore\u00a0in\u00a0yourself?
Rumination.<\/p>\n

Outrage.<\/p>\n

What was your most embarrassing\u00a0moment?
Putting chocolate mousse in my agent\u2019s face. Somebody had done it to\u00a0me \u2013 that thing where they go, \u201cSmell this, it smells funny\u201d, and then they put it in your nose. A year later I was in\u00a0this French restaurant with a very 1980s-style dessert trolley and, before I knew it, I had a bowl of chocolate mousse in front of me. And my agent went, \u201cWhat\u2019s that smell?\u201d, and it felt impossible not to \u2026 I immediately felt awful and tried to\u00a0apologise. He, of course, said that he\u00a0found it funny. But\u00a0I knew he didn\u2019t.<\/p>\n

The internet.<\/p>\n

If you could bring something extinct back to life, what would you choose?
The pager.<\/p>\n

What is your most unappealing habit?
Taking the last thing out of a box of something in the fridge or cupboard, then putting the empty box back.<\/p>\n

What scares you about getting older?
Having regrets and not knowing what\u00a0to do about them.<\/p>\n

Who is your celebrity crush?
Lauren Laverne.<\/p>\n

What is your guiltiest pleasure?
Buying sunglasses.<\/p>\n

Which words or phrases do\u00a0you\u00a0most\u00a0overuse?
Incidentally.<\/p>\n

What is the worst job you\u2019ve done?
A movie. Does it have a name? It\u00a0might\u00a0do.<\/p>\n

What is the closest you\u2019ve come\u00a0to\u00a0death?
A running accident when I was 14 or 15. I fainted but I was a bit of a jester and they thought I was taking the piss, so I\u00a0was left for a bit. I woke up in hospital.<\/p>\n

What has been your closest brush\u00a0with the law?
I\u2019ve twice not been able to do jury service. Both times I was doing a\u00a0fringe play and wrote a letter saying, \u201cYou don\u2019t understand, I\u00a0don\u2019t have an\u00a0understudy.\u201d And both times I\u00a0didn\u2019t realise they\u2019d written back saying, \u201cYou\u2019ve got to turn up\u201d, because I was so busy getting the play\u00a0on and didn\u2019t open my mail.<\/p>\n

What keeps you awake at night?
It\u2019s usually a slight feeling that, having got through the day, I didn\u2019t get any time to do any writing or something creative \u2013 it was a lot of admin, exhaustion from that and rumination.<\/p>\n

Would you rather have more sex,\u00a0money or fame?
I don\u2019t think I need more of any of\u00a0those three at the moment.<\/p>\n

How would you like to be remembered?
I\u2019ve not always been great friend material. I\u2019ve tried to get better at that,\u00a0so to be remembered as reliable by a\u00a0few would be great.<\/p>\n

What happens when we die?
You reach a certain point in life and suddenly know a lot of dead people, and I\u2019ve\u00a0noticed you don\u2019t stop getting to know people who are dead.
